Tammi and I did a test route today of some interesting sites to see for those getting in earlier on Thursday. The short drive will take about 1.5 hours roundtrip. We can stop and eat along the way, or as originally planned, eat at O'Charlies when we get back. Plenty of choices.

James

PS From the hotel, out to the airport viewing area, down hill and follow the river, then up to Devou Park for a spectaular view of downtown, then to the shore line along the KY side. We will finish up driving across the Suspension Bridge, by the two stadiums, through town and back to Florence.

Guys,

Alright, work has been crazy and the whole household has been getting over various sicknesses! Time for some fun! I am getting more excited with every passing day about attending my first Dragon event. I have been working on the car every week and it is almost ready to go – brake pads, brake fluid, brake lines, new fuel pump and tune(had a lean issue), fuel filter, etc. and putting a few other things together that you guys will be able to see.

A few comments:
- Ala_xfire - appreciate the nice comment on my car! I will do what I can to get there by 1ish on Thursday but that is 8 to 9 hours into my trip so hopefully no traffic, etc. I will send Pizzaguy my cell number so we can connect about my travel progress. If I make it, I hope you guys will let me join the group!

- Um, why would somebody say “…stay warm…”? I am from Louisiana, south Louisiana at that, it only gets cold down here when you stand in front of an open door to your freezer when looking for something. I guess I need to check the weather. Also, no mountains here, it is flat as can be!

- I hope someone is coming with a lowered car or has the knowledge to teach me a few things. That is the next project I will perform on the car and really want to understand all my options and get some pointers from some of you experts while I am there.

- I am guessing the leader of the group is at more risk of getting a ticket? If so, I agree to ante up a few bucks to cover any incidents. If everyone in the group gets a ticket, then you are on your own. Haha Oh yeah, Pizzaguy, sounds like you need to stop renting cars.

Can’t wait to see everyone!

maxcichon from Auburn will be at Cumming, he lowered his and made his own links.
BTW: the lunch at Cracker Barrel is at 12 PM, not 1, and that is EST, not CST ( 11 AM CST ), so you would need to leave at 2 AM or so.

Mark, please let me know as I have been keeping a 'next on deck' list from folks who PMed me after the boat was full. I keep a first come, first serve policy, as I believe that is the only fair way. Thanks!

Damn time zones , 2am! I don’t know man, and you guys eat lunch too early. I would have to average about 90 mph to get there haha.
Thanks for the offer BoilerUpXFire, will definitely talk to you.

If you go up through TN what time do you think you'll pass Lebanon Tennessee?

Okay, I plan to leave the Lebanon area around 11:00 Central Time. I'll probably eat in Mairrrvlle before I head over to the lodge.

Thirteendog,

If I used MapQuest correctly(2.5 hours from Lebanon to Maryville – so approximately 1:30 central time arrival), and based on our leave time of around 4am we will be real close to that time in Maryville give or take half an hour – again based on traffic and such. So we will just have to see how it goes and touch base close to that time.

Pizzaguy, thanks for the offer and I would take you up on it but my father is flying in to join me on this trip so that would not work for us. He actually has mandatory training on the Dragon weekend so he found out that they are doing the same training in another state the weekend before – so he plans to fly from Michigan to New Mexico to do the training and then fly to Louisiana – do you think he wants to go? Haha

Two weeks?????? Krap!

I still have brake calipers to rebuild and paint.
SS lines to mount and purge
Four wheels to dismount and polish.
One more coat of wax and something to pimp out the top canvas.
Underwear to clean( at least one pair)
Booze to buy
Oil change and a new K&N filter on the CAI.

and if I get time, new red stripes for speed.

Carl,

I am originally from Baton Rouge and still live in the area about an hour from N.O. N.O. is a great place. I was there a couple of weeks ago for a conference and got to enjoy some great food. It made me think that I need to visit more often.

It sounds like you're going up 75 to knoxville then i140 to Maryville. If that's the case I can meet you at the sweetwater exit on 75 and we can take the skyway over to Fontana. It's a much better run on Thursdays. It also means we'll miss Knoxville traffic. Let me know what you think.

I'm all set and ready to go. I've put a brand new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the rear of the car and the car has never handled better. As many of you know I've constantly struggled with the handling of this car. It has this snap oversteer like you wouldn't believe, so I kept the Pilot 1 A/S on the front (less grip) and added the Super Sports to the rear (more grip) and have created a car that understeers slightly.

Needless to say I'm super stoked about this upcoming event.
