The overall weekend requires no reservations other than your room at the lodge.
Just arrive Friday and you will have choices as to what you can do with the group throughout the weekend,
Ask for me in Friday when you arrive.
I will be there by about 2pm or just approach any others already there and introduce yourself .
No worry you will have a wonderful weekend.

Is there a list of activities, or a schedule of events that the group is taking part in? Any help would be appreciated.

Wayne, glad to hear you can make it. Since the group can get incredibly large, with well over 100 people all possibly wanting to do something different, we try to accommodate as much as possible but it is nearly impossible to include everyone 100% of the time. I organized the boat cruise because we have been going to the lodge for years and no one had ever tried it, so this year we will. If it is a success, we will try to organize multiple boats for next year.

Make sure to read through these threads and see what people are talking about doing, but most importantly, attend the driver's meeting on Friday night in the lodge lobby and you will get much more info about routes and info. As far as things to do, most kind of organize in smaller groups. Some like to drive fast, others prefer to see the scenery or go shopping. You will find, this is a very friendly group, if you are ever unsure, please ask anyone. We want everyone to have fun, but sometimes we have those who will not 'help themselves' and then say they were left out. We never intentionally leave anyone out, but if you don't get involved and ask, sometimes with a group this large, that can happen. Every trip, we have gone off with a different group for an adventure cruise and always had an absolute blast...

If you don't know anyone and you see a highly modified graphite coupe with a short bald guy driving a hot blonde around, come say hello, I am John, and my new fiancé is Molly

The lodge is also packed with stuff to do, from disc golf to hiking and kayaking, check out the site below...

Fun At Fontana Village

Hope this helps, I have no doubts you will have fun!

(This post is to everyone coming for the first time)

This is a very good point. People who end up staying in Robbinsville (cause they book their trip after the Lodge is full) often miss out because so much of the socializing and getting to know one another happens at the Lodge in the evenings. And the drive back to Robbinsville in the dark spooks me, so I don't blame people for heading to the Hotel by 6pm! (People who will be camping at the Lodg'es campground will only be about 2 miles from the lodge, not nearly as bad to drive back in the dark as going all the way to Robbinsville.)

When you get there, just go up to ANYONE with a Crossfire and you are in. Asking for Gary or John or Nick (13dog) or Mark/Pizzaguy would be a good idea, too. The driver's meeting Friday is at 9pm, but anytime after about 6pm there will be people mulling around the lodge. If you see Crossfires sitting along the road or gathered at a restaurant on your way into town, don't be afraid to just stop and walk up to the bunch ! We all come there for the same reason - to see one another!

About the driver's meeting:
Gary (and others) talk about safety as well as what the various routes are like and what speed ranges each group moves in - this will give you an idea of what group to go with on Saturday. If you've never been there, just the places we all drive to, and the places we eat at, will fill you day enough. Then, when we get back, it's time for dinner together and we usually sit around talking till about 11pm.

It DOES sound like room can be made for one more lady to go shopping, if your wife wants to do that, it would just be that one or two ladies may follow the SUV in their car...

We will have a very fast group doing the Devil's Triangle; a moderate group (or two) doing the Skyway, a group going to Franklin and back (pretty drive and often the tourist class takes that route) and on Sunday there is usually a trip to the Builtmore (is that spelled right?), I've never gone along on that one. There is also the run down below Franklin that stops at some waterfalls, and this year there will be a run over to a Brewery and a ride on the Parkway.

You may have more to choose from than you know what to do with. For a first time up there, I recommend (what happens to be my favorite): the Skyway run. This one includes a romantic waterfall (I helped a guy propose there last fall), a beautiful drive down the skyway, lunch in Tellico Plains, an optional stop at the liquor store on 411, an optional shot up to about 110mph on TN72, and a return thru the Dragon. (I think if we are running ahead of schedule this year, I want to go up to Lookout Rock on the way back, if the weather is clear.)

Above all, just get there! I WISH you were coming in on Thursday, it sounds like I'm leading four cars - I think two are first-timers and we'll be going up my "road to nowhere" (different from Nick's road of the same name), over Blood Mountain and in the back way from Atlanta. We leave GA400 exit 14/Cumming at 1pm on Thursday, after a one hour stop for lunch. Being there on Thursday night gives you all day Friday to play around in advance of the rest of us getting there. It also beats the hell outta going to work.

Down to just over 4 weeks, everyone!

Pizzaguy: Reading these threads have me all "jacked up" on going...This my first time and I'm all excited to be in the company of soon to be friends that really enjoy cars;especially the Crossfire...I would like to do the "fast" run, however as I said earlier, I just don't have the motor/transmission (I'm stock/automatic) to run like I use to in my racing days.. BUT, I know I will have the time of my life...can't wait!!

My N/A is stock and if my driving was up to par, I could pretty much keep up with the SRTs and Nick's '55. With the curves up there, you spend a lot of time on the brakes and no one can REALLY use all that HP. Kimposible will even tell you that the N/A is "smooth, and smooth is fast", and she has both an N/A and SRT.

The triangle run will cost your tire tread, more than anything. I STILL might tag along, since I have new tires. But leading the skyway run would be fun, too.

You can always ride with or chase after Nick or BigKig or John thru the Dragon on Friday, if you keep up, then go with them on the Triangle run Saturday!

I just spoke with the marina at the lodge, we are good for sometime between 6 and 6:30 for the boat cruise, but I will give you all a set time at the Driver's meeting on Friday so everyone is clear and there are no delays.

If anyone would rather drive or hang out than go on the boat cruise, your spot would be quickly filled, just let us know

Silly question, but will food be served on the boat cruise?

After seeing Miss Hazel, I did not ask

Although, maybe they will be serving lobster tail and fillet, after all, we are spending $15 each

If we wanted to all bring a little something, I don't think they would be opposed, I was probably just going to go to the grill after the cruise or something...

Is that a future picture of Mark in the photo to the right of Miss Hazel?

Okay I wasn't sure, but your right, I don't see room for a kitchen staff on Miss Hazel.

Can't wait to see my Crossfire buddies again seems ages since the spring meeting. Think I will do the Skyway run this year. The boat trip sounds like fun as well. Should arrive around lunchtime Friday.

Well, I am glad to hear you are coming back Andy.

Next time, book THURSDAY night instead - it's a very small but good group that evening and you get the Dragon to play on Friday before the crowds show up!

And I fly to Seattle that Monday, so I'm going home Sunday about 3.

Who are the first-timers ?
I know Max has been before, and I've been twice.

The guy from ATL and demontors. I don't think either have been there before.
Might be picking up one or two more as well - both first timers!
