Crossfires Across America (CAA #4) with Texas Motor Speedway - September 1 - 7
Re: Crossfires Across America (CAA #4) with Texas Motor Speedway - September 1 - 7
You DID miss a good one Pizza. I wish you could have joined us! The photos can't begin to express the great drives. There were many times when it was difficult to decide to drive fast through the curves, or drive slow and take in the spectacular scenery.

I loved that last run along the river! Was kinda glad I wasn't with the group.. I had enough adrenaline rush with those blind Whoop de do's without having to wonder if the car in front had stopped and I would find out in about 2 seconds.. LOL.

Brenda and I would like to give Dennis and Pat a big THANK YOU for their support at CCA #4. The chewing gum certainly help Brenda's upset stomach and I know that everyone enjoyed the water. Thanks for your thoughtfulness!!

YES! Thanks to Dennis and Pat for driving the CAA4 Courtesy Van. They carried spare 18" & 19" wheels/tires, jacks, tools, water, chips, gum, etc. Fortunately, nobody had mechanical problems.

Lucky for who ever it was that parked that close that it was a kind guy like Evan that they parked that close to.
He had someone with him crawl into the passenger side and take the drivers seat and back the car out so he could then get in and leave.

Kind of a bittersweet moment.. Was looking forward to the track time.. but also knew it signal the end of this. Met some GREAT people and have had an absolute blast.
Thank you all who attended.. You made Sherri and I feel like we've been with the "group" for years.

As you all went east for TMS Marilyn and I headed north up TX 118 and 17. Beautiful drive all the way to Pecos. That's when the fracking trouble began. More fracking trucks for fracking mud and fracking vacuum then you could shake a stick at. Lots of fracking dust too. Needless to say we were fracking happy to put Pecos County in the rear view mirror. We hit the bat cave in Carlsbad NM and got that off the bucket list. Then stopped in Roswell NM where we traded 2 Holland Hotel cinammon buns for 3 grams of Kryptonite. Noticed immediate increase in HP and MPG in the Crossfire. Home safe Sat Night. Thanks to all, it was a great time. Look forward to see you next year.

What a fantastic time at the TMS this weekend! It was great to catch up with old friends and meet a few new ones. It was great to see John (FTroop) there as well. Special thanks to InfernoRedXfire and Texas T for setting everything up and their hospitality. Special thanks to rmaier for allowing John to ride in his car around the track. We, CCC, made it back to Denver this evening between 5 and 6PM MDT.
CICCI was proud to present John (FTroop) with an appreciation plaque:

Danny and Dan you guy's in Texas really know the meaning of the word "HOSPITALITY" Man I don't know where to begin, most of the pictures and what's been said is a "ditto" and I am sure Sonia and Brenda had a hand in all the hard work put into this. I want to thank each of you again for a really great time! I know it's been said many times and lots of ways but crossfire people are the best! I had the privilege of having John ride with me and man has he got some good stories and amazing reflections about life.

We made it home with out "incedents", a total of 2005 miles of nothin' but Texas, and MAN! was my mind TRULY blown away, and I'm a native!
The daily routes and stops were PERFECT! The scenery of southern Texas is not to be believed, the size of the Davis Mts, and the Chisos System is spectacular, PERIOD! Then to top it off with a wonderful collection of caracters who own Crossfires that love to drive a little crazy, is nothing but PRICELESS!
To repeat a lot that has already been said, but will do so anyway...
To Dan and The Group, a wonderfull time as always, Thanks for all the work in setting up this CAA/TMS.
To meet new friends and to see old friends is what theese events are really all about, not just the Crossies, or where the GTG is located, any place will do. And if I can throw out a small hint, next years CAA sounds incredable....
Thanks for the ramble, hope all the long distant people get home safe.
Smallfry (Terry) and DC'XFire (Diane)
PS-just for kicks, DC's autostick did get better mileage than my 6 speed, by about 2+ mpg...

Id like to thank Dan&Brenda,Danny&Sonia, and Dennis&Pat for all they did to make a perfect CAA-4. The scenery and drives and accommodations were great. Combining it with 3 days at the Speedway was like 2 trips in one. We all know about a Speedway weekend.
Old friends and new ones is always fun.
Having John and Lorne together was special. (162 years combined,WOW)
We were so glad to see our good friends from Colorado. Its a good thing I didn't know it was Evans birthday.
Thank you all for owning a Crossfire, because we wouldn't
know each other if you didn't.
I can' wait for CAA-5. I wonder where it will be.
