I just booked a room in Weatherford for Sat 31. Only a half mile from McDonalds. $40 bid on Priceline. Fairfield Inn. "Lets get the show on the road."

Joe, you've now been nominated to reserve our section of tables at Mickey D's.

I'll try to reserve 4 tables and the Play Area for Sunday from 8:30 till 9:15. Then we drive 450 to Alpine. Make sure to pee before you leave McDs because I'm not stoping.

Yo...we'll be in the fast roadster with the top down...don't be behind us 'cause you may be wondering why your windshield is getting wet when there's not a cloud in the sky.

For those meeting up in Weatherford on Sunday, we have a choice on the route to drive to Alpine. Route #1 is interstate via I-20. Route #2 is US Highway 67. Mapquest shows the drive time difference to be about 20-30 minutes longer to take US 67. I have driven the I-20 route MANY times and can tell you it can get flat and boring at times. But I know a good BBQ joint off I-20 near Midland to stop at.

On the other-hand, the US 67 route offers lots of twist, turns and much greater scenery. We could do US 67 to Alpine and I-20 on the return...or? What do you think?

I would like to take 67 to Alpine and I-20 back to the Speedway.
We have to keep in mind that will spend at least 2hrs for rest stops, gas, and lunch, with as many people as we have.
Also keep in mind that after check-in in Alpine we all have to eat. Places to eat might be limited on Sunday night.

Good point Joe. The Century Bar & Grill inside The Holland Hotel shows to be open until 10pm Sunday night (and every night). Their menu looks like food worth waiting for after a days drive.

Actually, not really foreseeing an "opportunity" during the cruise to jump over to Mexico.. think we are going to get checked in and hit the road to the border... I think she has Mexican Shiny Bobble Fever..

Any body know a good taco stand over there?
