this is a message to the ladies in particular who wanted the shopping bag that was embroidered with the crossfire car. if you would like one of those shopping bags please pm me , with the details of your car ( colour, coupe/roadster/ year) i'll make sure that i get you one. i'll need your mailing information also. you will be a vision with your new crossfire t-shirt with the matching shopping bag. guys not to exclude you, you can use it to carry all of your cleaning stuff in the trunk. let me know.

I left there Sunday morning at 11:am got to my house in Jax beach at 6:30 pm,, 7 hours for 528 miles ,, spent the night, Sunday night then left at 10 to go to My daughter's house in Melborne fl. Jax to Melborne 2hr 10 min,, staied there a few hours then Melborne to Ft Lauderdale in 2hr and 30 min,, got home around 5:30 pm,
Rob, Rudy, & Paul You guys are just what i expcted, well except rudy he"s funny,, I really injoyed meeting you guys,, Mike your hood is the best. Paul your car is :"ne plus ultra": Rudy what a job you did.. if mercedies only knew they would hire you for 6 figures a year.. had a great time everyone was so nice. what a group. even if you all did tell me to start at the end of the line,,, Rob showed me how to do the dragon tail,, i just couldn't find any stright lines,, it was fun,, i was slow and that wes too fast for me, We rob and I only went maybe half way on the dragon tail up and back and that took 2 1/2 hours,, I could go over 10 mph those turns were turns why don't they make a stright away of 1/4 mile so i could win. as long as i don't race paul. grear time thanks to everyone,, Gary my three hot dogs were great, thanks to all and to all good night. jim

 

Hey All, arrived home about 3pm yesterday. I can't believe how tired, sore and just completely exhuasted that I am after spending the weekend zip-lining, drinking, driving, drinking, white water rafting, drinking, and driving some more.....oh yeah, I think we ate a few times in there somewhere. Give me a week to recover and I'll be ready to do it again.

You guys weren't really going slow at all. I just had my butt on fire that morning. Plus you let me go thru the Dragon first, so you are AWESOME in my book!!!

I got home last night about 5:30. It would have been earlier but I hit major traffic about 4 miles from my house & that part of the trip took almost 40 minutes. I probably could have walked it in that period of time!!

What a great Dragon trip ... it was my favorite trip yet!! I can't wait to get all the pictures US129 took of my car. Actually good photos were the reason for the butt on fire, early morning trip thru the Dragon!! This trip was all about good friends, good weather, beautiful scenery, lots of laughs & making new friends. It lived up to everything. I can't wait to go back!

I got home to a 50% renovated master bathroom & painted master bedroom ..... my BF was a very busy guy while I was gone!!!

 

Darn it - I HATE the fact that I had to miss another Dragon GTG! I hate that I didn't have a chance to re-acquaint myself with my friends, old & new, on this forum!
Oh......I hate that I've posted this here & not in Rudy's B*tch, P*ss, Rant thread instead !!

 

I hate the fact you realized that before I could ***** about it....

 

I made it home safe and sound about 3 hours ago. 3115 total miles logged on the car and I am surely hoping that I will be able to make it again next year! Franc and Cathy, thanks so much for putting me up for the night last week. To all the old friends and new friends, looking forward to see you all next year!

Well I'm finally rested and loaded all my pics into my gallery:
Fall 2010 - Tail of the Dragon Meet

Well this by far was the biggest and best one ever.
75 Crossfires all parked at the Fontana Dam !!!
Many new faces and all the regulars were in attendance.
I slept very little and drove a lot and had a blast.

My thanks to CICCI for the sponsoring of the BBQ
About $700 was provided to cover all the costs.
We all enjoyed the time together throughout the entire weekend and the staff at the lodge go out of there way to make us all welcome and give us the entire lobby for our evening party on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Thank you all for coming and I hope everyone will come back next Fall.
I will start a new Fall 2011 thread in the Spring and don't worry you won't miss it once it starts.

Until then I'll see ya here on other threads and take a break from keeping lists of names for the best and biggest Crossfire meet in the country.

A very special thanks to Bigkid (Jim Robertson) for presenting me with a beautiful hand painted portrait of my Crossfire.
This was painted from a photo taken at the Fontana Dam last Spring.
His daughter (Jamie Robertson) painted it and Jim presented it to me at the Drivers meeting on Friday night when everyone was in attendance.
I was completely surprised by this and it is a one of a kind original.
I was simply at a loss for words when I saw this.
It's something very special to me and I will find a place to hang it proudly here at home.

If anyone has a photo of Gary's face when he was presented with this.....please post it up. I was standing beside him and saw the stunned look on his face and am just hoping that someone got a shot of it.

 

The BBQ was a success and the weather was perfect.
We served 130 Bubba Burgers and 70+ Hot Dogs along with chips and baked beans and drinks.
I would estimate we had about 125 people attend.
Thanks to Danimal, msxfire, crossfirefrank and Bluecopupe for helping with the grilling and to Karen (Harbor's wife) who prepped the food and all who helped be sure we didn't run low on anything on the serving table.
It was a busy time so I hope I didn't forget to mention anyone else who pitched in to help here.

We will do it again next year !!!
Also I want to thank CICCI for the funds and sponsorship of this great BBQ.
