I am just now replacing my factory conti's on the front at 30K. And i drivelike an idiot. Having been called so by may another driver i accept the label.
My back ones suffered a catastrophe in Nashville Spring Dragon '09. Tghat said, i have nothing bad to sayabout the factory Conti's.

I am replacing them with the Generals today. Basically because I like the way they stick, I have on the Generals in back.

Amazing how different people have different views on tires.

What matters is how you feel when you drive them I guess. Hope you all don't mind how you feel looking at my backside too much

Wasnt sure if i was going to be able to make it or not but got the car up and running prity good still needs some work but i beleave it will make it to the dragon. Now just one problem.. I need a bed or couch to sleep on Ill help with the cost of the room if thats cool. Or how much are the rooms now without the discount?

I think we can count on some people not showing up for one reason or the other. My guess is that at least four cars on that list will not show.
Booking a room is cheap so what's there to lose?

Any evaluations on the BRIDGESTONE PotenzaPole Position? Hope to have them in time for the DRAGON. Seeing the bars on the orig. Conti rears after 25,000 mi.
One dealer said that any tires coming out of the Orient are more expensive these days due to the new tariffs placed on them. Still got them at the price quoted four months ago however Can't wait for the weekend!

 

350 miles down, 1100 to go. So far, so good. 28.5 mpg on the first tank of gas (even with the ethanol mix).

It is Friday morning yet?!?! This week is going sooooooo slow!!! I am ready to hit the Dragon & see my friends!!! It's almost fried pickle time at the Grill!!!

 

Same here. Between (my) Kim and I, countdowns are a dirty word.

I'm counting down the hours 'till the Dragon, and she's keeping track of the days till our wedding.

Yesterday, I got a text:

"Love you baby!! Only 166 more days till the wedding!!!"

Only?!?!

I told her my countdown was much more sensible. I got smacked.

 

i got a complete set (all 4) hancook tires this morning, the cost was less than 600.. i was told don't worry ,,pay when u get back ,,yes i get then wholesale,, infact i am going to bring one ea of my old tires as spares, one 18" and one 19" just in case something happends to one of mine. no one will have our size you know. jim

 

Glad I made no serious attempt at detailing the exterior…has rained like, well, like we were driving in the "dreaded triangle of monsoon weather". I did get some exterior improvements done, just a little dressing up of the classic yellow

 

My excitement about leaving for the Dragon is contageous. My 4 year old son has got excited too and is begging to come along. So, It looks like a may have a navigator with me. Is this venue appropriate for me to bring my son along? Thanks

We are at the Biltmore...what a splendid place; reminds us of the castle's we visited in Europe. They have a wine here too, you know us GCG people The place is very busy too.

Tomorrow we drive to SC via Moonshiner.

Rained here pretty hard the last couple of days. 2 inches around our house, but 3-4 inches up in the mountains. Storm front is gone, the sun is out and the temp is only in the 70's. Forecast for the mountains is low 70s for FRI/SAT; upper 60s for SUN. Lows are suppose to be lower to mid 40s. FALL IS FINALLY HERE!!

IT'S GONNA BE A GREAT XFIRE GTG WEEKEND!!!!
