But Allen & Joanna probably end up being one of the closest, living in nearby Waynesville, NC. Can't be more than 60-65 miles 'as the crow flies'. Anyone from around Maryville, TN area might be closer.
We're really getting excited and anxious about the upcoming Dragon weekend. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. And, of course, letting our XFire 'stretch its legs' & drive roads it was designed to do.

Crumpy's SRT is serviced and ready for a wah and wax.
I need new tires on the front wash and wax.
We are ready to go.
It's been a long year since the'09 fall Dragon.
Missed the spring event.
It's been a long summer.
It will be a long week from now till we can go.
I feel like a kid one week before summer camp.
Yeah, I'm excited

no, not far at all from the dragon, hoping things work out so that I can still make it. even if it means taking it easy on the drive and not pushing too much, my only other options that weekend are a couple of car shows going on and that means sitting around in the heat. Been there done that too many times, the dragon is much more fun, good people, good drinks, great driving.

found 2 60% tread Bridgestone Potenzas on ebay for $169 + $44 shipping, enought to get my inspection done and make it a while longer. right size for what I'm running too.

Hi all,
I just checked The List and could not find my name or car there. Oh, well, I picked a slightly different Forum Name when registering for the new site, so although tonight I am SRT6 in MI, I will be ZH SRT6 sometime in the future.
So Gary, may I be added to the list? My plan is to catch up with the Midwest convoy at Friday morning breakfast.
My recently acquired Crossfire is a 2005 SRT6 Roadster, Aero Blue.
Looking forward to seeing some of you again, and meeting the rest!
Clint

Re: 4th Annual Fall 2010 - Tail of the Dragon GTG - Oct. 1, 2, 3
Slightly revised plan due to the size of our overall group this fall
I'm asking that everyone plan to begin our line up on Saturday morning at the lodge at 8:30 and be ready to pull out at 9:00.
I have arranged with US129photos.com to be at the Fontana Dam by 9:00am for our arrival for all the professional photos.
I want to be sure we have EVERYONE there for the group pic and allow enough time for anyone who wants professional photos taken of just their car with or without them it it
I have made arrangements with the park ranger to have the parking lot across the Dam from the visitors center reserved for our group exclusively.
I will have maps of both Saturday and Sunday routes with route directions to pass out to ALL drivers at the lodge on Friday night in the lobby at 9pm when I ask that everyone be present for a short drivers meeting.
Saturday
Begins at 8:30am with the Crossfire line up at the lodge.
Then around 9:00am we take our convoy of 70+ Crossfires in a continuous line (road blocked) to the Fontana Dam (across the Dam) where professional photos are taken by US129photos.com.
We will have a few folks directing you in to the parking area and assisting in getting all our Crossfires parked nicely and evenly to provide a good photo
We are usually there til around 11:30am and then divide into smaller groups for the remainder of the day beginning with a trip 30 miles to Robbinsville for lunch.
Fuel is available in Robbinsville for those who need to fill up.
Then a run through the Cherohala Skyway - (55 miles / 5400ft. peak elevation) and back around eventually back through the Dragon and back to the lodge around 5pm.
<< Saturday run map (click on it) 141 miles
There is then time to freshen up and then come down to the Chestnut room at the lodge for our C-I-C-C-I SPONSORED BBQ dinner.
Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chips and Baked Beans will be served to all who attend.
Soft drinks and water will be served but alcohol is your responsibility
We will start the grilling around 6:00 pm and should be starting to eat by 6:30.
_________________________________________
Sunday
A run over to Cherokee for lunch and then a trip through the Smokey Mountains and over to the Foothills Parkway and back to US129 (the Dragon).
<< Sunday run map (click on it) 140 miles
Dinner will be available back at Fontnan Lodge for those who wish to dine there.
Eventually all of us who are staying overnight at the lodge are again welcome to hang out in the comfortable spacious lobby and share stories and reflect on the weekend spent together.
This is just a general outline of the activities planned for our weekend GTG
Please drive safely and I'm looking forward to seeing you all there.
