The Grill below the main lodge is excellent and has some of the best burgers I've ever had. Much more reasonably priced as well, and a better selection of items. I think I ate every meal there in the spring.

Plus I joined people for breakfast and I didn't think it was overly priced. It was around the same as a meal at cracker barrel.

Deals Gap has a decent place at reasonable prices. Sandwich plates and stuff on the menu but the trout is excellent.

It is a bikers place but I never had a bad meal or time there. It's only 10 minutes away unless you get stuck behind OleDoc2U on the Helbender.

Then it's about 7 minutes away.

I am with Nick & Dan - the Grill is GREAT!!! Fantastic burgers, fried pickles, great atmosphere & reasonably priced. I bring food with me for breakfast (I don't recommend fruit loops) because I can't get up early enough to do a sit down breakfast. There are options for the Friday & Sunday night meals. Don't worry - no one starves at the Dragon.

We fall right along with Kim's comments above, with the exception that we typically bring 'liquid libation' to pay homage to the XFire Gods during the weekend!

I'd forgotten about the grill.... so, as gryfan said, "Thanks for the heads up".

It's called the Wildwood Grill and it is a short walk from the lodge on the Fontana Village property.
The food is very good and you can have a great meal for around $10
Enjoy dining out on the huge long front deck or have a seat inside to enjoy your meal.

Saturday Lunch in Robbinsville

We all generally eat at Papa's Pizza Buffet.
Our route brings us here right around noon for lunch.
I have called ahead an told them we are coming in large numbers so they are prepared for the rush.
See the links here : Papa's Pizza

There is also a McDonald's and a Wendy's close by and also gas if ya need to top off here in Robbinsville.

Sunday lunch is in Cherokee, NC.
Many places to choose from here.
We found a good homestyle Sunday buffet but I don't recall the name of the place.

HAHA Papa's Pizza ladies were so pissed at me from the spring dragon. I left out early to give them a heads up. I make it there, pay for my food and tell them that a group of 25 people should be coming in about 30 minutes. Once I sit down, I gaze out the window to 20 crossfires pulling in. I had to laugh

Crumpy is an adult and........She has her own crossfire.
She can bring what she wants.

Besides, the question was 'anything I really need?"

For the water babies amongst us-
This may be old news to most, the indoor pool is gone
I had used it and found it to be adequate. Anyway just an FYI-
