Gary, Boni and I have booked our room for Fri, Sat, and Sun. we very well may extend our stay through Mon. We will be adding a second Crossfire as well ( I may be there on Thursday, will know before Sept.1.

when are we going to start putting together some groups to drive there together little crossfire convoys

 

We can start this anytime for those in the SE-USA. But this weekend event is still over a month away, so there's plenty of time to arrange "hook-ups" for convoying into Fontana Dam, NC.

But I'll kick things off by stating that Roberta & I will probably leave Upstate SC sometime early Friday afternoon. Probably in the 1-2 PM window. Only takes about 2-1/2 hours from here. Makes arrival around 4 PM +/- a 1/2 hour and check-in at the lodge is 4 PM according to the staff.

So we're game for initially meeting with other Upstate owners somewhere locally and then meeting other XFires along the way using the I-26W/I-40W/US-74W corridor.

 

Bobbie and I will be leaving Gainesville Florida Thursday after work (about 6.) We plan to stop somewhere on I-75 for the night. Maybe Macon or Atlanta and then drive the rest of the way Friday morning.

 

Gary, are you and the rest of the Florence crew still staying there for a stop over Thursday night?

If this is the case, Molly and I will probably meet you there in the morning again and caravan into Fontana with the group. Let me know if this works....

It depends on how many want to meet there this time.
Last Sping there was virtually nobody going that would be staying in Florence so I just left earlier and met James1549 there at lunch instead and drove all the way to Fontana on Thursday.

I'll be seeing who all wants to stay over as we get closer so follow the thread for the details for the midwest convoy.

 

Count us in at O'Charleys/Florence as a halfway point this Oct. The Thurs night GTG there has become a ritual. I couldn't make the Spring TOD.

 

Got our Fall Dragon event listed on the Tail of the Dragon website events calendar. And found out that the New Beetle group had an event in the spring this year. Maybe Berta & I will join them i spring 2011.

Gary my reservations have been made for Friday and Saturday. We will be leaving late on Sunday after the days activities. My other Crossfire will be attending also. Going to have some Scion's there. Here is a video clip (post 5) that I found pretty impressive though it looks like it was sped up.
