The wife and I are trying to work in the Dragon in the spring on our trip to the Tampa area, but I don't know yet. We just picked our vac. time for the next year, I'll have to do some creative vac. rearranging. After all we could use that excuse to visit our daughter and son in law at Fort Bragg later. The St. Louis run is a go though.

By the way I vote for this route too

Nevermind, I guess I should read more carefully LOL

There's also gas available in & around Franklin, NC, which is only 48 miles into our proposed route. And as Itsky commented earlier, Robbinsville is just another 47 miles after Franklin and there's ample "fueling stations", both gas & nourishment.

But I also concur with Itsky that the best overall strategy is to fuel-up as you approach your arrival at Fontana Dam Lodge and then you're all set for the first driving event. The whole route is just under 210 miles. So all XFire models should make it easily with a full tank of hi-test.

And for those that don't want to travel this route, they can always take the normal route over to Robbinsville, enjoy their lunch, decide to continue on & meet us back at the lodge or wait for us and we'll all continue together.

It's getting colder here in Chi-town
I gotta keep thinking "Spring"
Although no snow yet so I'm still enjoying my Crossfire daily.

Gary just to let you know, the wife and I are planning on the 3rd Annual Spring meet. We are in Brandenton, Fl for the next 4 months. Not going to make a motel reservation till it gets a little closer. The wife finishes her job here on April 14th.

The addition to the run looks great. It'll be nice to change things up a bit.

Per request, I've updated the Southern Route to reflect our stay at Fontana Dam for group pictures and dam XFire camaraderie (did I just say that!). Anyway, attached is the updated route & itinerary showing us getting back to Fontana Village Resort around 5:30 PM. Lunch will be a little later than our usual itinerary. But it will be a great drive down Hwy 28 to Franklin and then back over to Robbinsville!

Later,

The new year is only a few days away.
I'm looking forward to once again seeing many of you in the spring for another weekend in the mountains.
So mark your calendars and tell the boss you need a few days off work to kick off the season with your Crossfire and some good friends.

I will be there, traveled that highway on two different ocassions last year as a passanger in the back of a Lincoln,,,wishing I had my Crossfire. Will do it right this time. For those who have not been to this area you will love it. May i suggest renting a boat and going out on the lake at the dam. Waynsville is also a great town with some great shops and stores.
