re: Our Crossfires Across America Rally - St.Louis, Mo. June 22, 23 & 24 -2010
WOW!
I thought there might be some interest in doing this, but the response has been astounding!
We need to get started on the planning right away and unfortunately my work schedule is very tight throughout June into July. Gary has asked if he and others can take the lead in the midwest on this for now and I think that is a great idea.
We will need to set up "regional" groups and leaders to determine starting points so that is probably the next step along with a definite destination. Someone in the St Louis area or thereabouts that can talk to the local community to see what support they can provide, etc.
PLEASE POST THAT YOU WANT TO TAKE PART AND GET THIS THING GOING.

I think the best way to get started with this will be to set up regional starting points. My suggestion is the following
NW
SW - SRT SIX (in SoCal)
Midwest - Valkeryderguy and FP (Chicago, ILL) MisterTaz ( Hubertus, Wisconsin)
South - Deborah Walker (Georgia)
NE -
Mid Atlantic - srt6-xfire (Maryland)
SE -
The very special area around St Louis/Kansas/Iowa to help with local logistics.
We are looking at doing this next summer (2010) around June/July. It is going to take time, but this could be the largest Crossfire event ever held.
Please post if you are willing to help. We need to get this thing rolling if it is going to happen.

Karl & Gary,
I voted that I would be willing to help so Please sign me up and let me know how I can. Personally I think dedwards0323 idea was great I would love the opportunity to fly around a road course with the rest of you guys and gals!
I'm looking forward to this...
Stay safe...
Respectfully,
Paul (MisterTaz)

I agree 100%, if a road course is possible, I would definitely LOVE to get out there with everyone. The Dragon was great and some of the drag events have been cool, but to get on a legit road course and not have to worry about officers (sorry Doc) would be great IMO.

Do you guys have any idea how much it costs to lease a track for a day? Plus, providing all of the required safety/security personnel and equipment, insurance, etc.?
It isn't quite as simple as just reserving a track and letting everyone go out and run to their heart's content. The several opportunities that I have had to participate in something like that were so cost prohibitive that it just wasn't practical. Now, if you can get in on an already sanctioned event, that could cut the cost considerably and may make it feasible.
It would be a blast for sure, and if you can make it happen for little to nothing, then count me in.

Based on 100 Crossfires although I am certain we would not find 100 who would participate nor might we even have 100 Crossfires.
Don''t get me wrong here folks I would participate but I think Dan raises a good point realistically.
re: Our Crossfires Across America Rally - St.Louis, Mo. June 22, 23 & 24 -2010
The suggestion for late June was mainly for those with kids in school, and to give us a little extra time. However, if the majority want it in late may....

Count me in. Late June would be perfect. Would give me time to get re-adjusted to driving my xfire again compared to driving the heavy *** trucks here in Afghanistan. Anyhow keep on working the idea. I'm in 100%

Has anything been decided?
1. Set two viable, tentative dates.
2. Set a (ONE) location.
3. Set an attendees list.
4. Do a cost analysis.
5. Assign regional representatives to notify/gather members.
6. Seek sponsors (automotive products, other car clubs, Chrysler, area race tracks, etc).
7. Then just DO IT.
Everyone has great ideas and fantastic opinions on who, what, where, etc but the final location and time is the decision of the "person" who thought up the idea. SRTSIX (DAMN GREAT IDEA BRO) stick to your original brainstorm and then run with it. Too many suggestions slows the decision process to a crawl. I'm waiting to commit because I dont know when or where. Dont let this great time die in "continual committee".

re: Our Crossfires Across America Rally - St.Louis, Mo. June 22, 23 & 24 -2010
Sorry I have not been able to spend as much time with this as I would have liked.
I have been busy with a multi-city seminar tour that is finally coming to an end this next week.
Here is my proposal:
Date: June 20-30, 2010 (2-3 days travel 2-3 days events and 2-3 days travel back)
Location: Central US: St.Louis (by vote)
Regional Reps who have volunteered so far (should be 2 to each region):
Valkeryderguy, FP - Chicago/Midwest
Franc Raushcher, - Central
SRT6-xfire, Maryland - East
Deborah Walker, Dedwards0323, - Southeast
SRT SIX, - SoCal Southwest
Sandgrounder, - Western Canada, Pacific to Manatoba border & North West U.S.
ZOZ,- New Mexico
We need many more (please PM me if you want to help)
At last count there are 54 who want to attend - 9 who want to attend and help (I only show 7. Who are the other 2)
Cost analysis and sponsorships can be assigned when the organizers/reps have a meeting (forum/email/phone)

re: Our Crossfires Across America Rally - St.Louis, Mo. June 22, 23 & 24 -2010
Karl,
This sounds perfect !!
It's 1 year and 2 weeks away so it can certainly be pulled off.
I'm here near Chi-town and will help coordinate a convoy of Crossfires from here for any who have or make Chi-town along there route.
I live 40 miles west of Chicago directly off I-88
All those who are coming this way should start planning meeting points and create a Crossfire convoy.
So SRT SIX has set a date and a place so it's time to start getting the planning on.
This is gonna be a huge event if everyone works together and makes the trip.
