re: Our Crossfires Across America Rally - St.Louis, Mo. June 22, 23 & 24 -2010
I can't remember the name of the place, but there's a really nice "outdoor" Transportation Museum on the outskirts of St. Louis. Mostly old trains, but there are other vehicles too. Just one more place to go if the GTG is in St. Louis. (Aren't there Casinos "floating" on the banks of the Mississippi as well? Maybe even some short "River Boat" excursions?)

We have many casinos, both floating, and standing in water but not floating (what a joke). They'd be happy to take your money.
I think the river boat runs are gone but can check. We had the Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher. The Admiral is a no go. Not sure about the Alton Belle.
There is a new casino downtown by the Arch that is completely land based. Name escapes me tonite.
I don't gamble myself so I'm not sure about a lot of this.

Haven't read all of this thread, but the event outline is a classic one. We'd be interested in attending.
As far as locations, if none have been selected, I'd suggest ending up in KCMO or Pacific Junction, IA.
KCMO - We could gather around the Kansas Speedway and see if we could arrange for track access for a few laps. Plenty of eateries and lodging nearby. And I'd suspect track would like the publicity if we contact them about gathering there.
Pacific Junction, IA - Gather at Mid America Motorplex (I think it's Iowa side just south of Omaha, NE). The road course there is 2.2 miles and track rental by a car club is $3500/day (MON-THU) or $6000/day (FRI-SUN). Get a hundred XFires to participate and that's about $35/day or $60/day depending on what's days we'd sign up for. Otherwise, check what other car clubs have track rented on an upcoming weekend and see if we can "piggy-back" with them. Near Omaha and that means plenty of eateries, lodging and casinos (for those interested).
Here's the road course website: Mid America Motorplex. Main Section.
This has the possibility of becoming a major GTG for us if we schedule it between our Tail of the Dragon events. I'm for showing up at the road course, which is what these cars were built for! Come on, SRT SIX, make a decision and we'll pitch in to make it happen. Enough talk. Get 'er Done!

Don't worry Franc .... I am in on this program!! Sounds like a great time. That is a really long drive from Orlando, but it will be worth it! I might borrow a friend's covered car carrier for this trip though .... it will carry 3-4 XF & can tow it behind the truck. Show up with CLEAN XF's ... unlike the Dragon!

Not to steal any thunder from SRT SIX, I've gone ahead & sent Mid America Motorplex an email seeing if they're interested in hosting us either during July or August timeframe. That should give XFire owners sufficient time to make plans if we go ahead with this idea.

As a member of CICCI (Crossfire International Car Club, Inc), we’re discussing arranging a Crossfires Across America event with a meeting point somewhere in the Midwest. I’ve suggested your facility as a potential gathering point. This has generated considerable interest within CICCI and I’d like to discuss the possibility of arranging an event during JUL/AUG timeframe. Since it would be our initial effort for this, we’d like your help to “piggy-back” with another organization for a track day weekend. Once we determine that we can get sufficient interest & support from XFire membership across USA & Canada, we’d discuss the possibility of having our own track day weekend.
We already hold 2 events each year to drive the Tail of the Dragon (318 curves in an 11-mile stretch of US 129 in the mountains of NC). We have been doing this every Spring & Fall for the past 3-4 years. But we’d like to make the Crossfires Across America our annual mid-year event and take our cars out on a true road course to see the potential of the marque. And it would be great publicity for our car club and your facility.
If interested in hosting us, contact me via email or cell phone below.

Later,
He exchanged a few PMs with me before the initial posting of this thread.
So 2010 is the plan and late June will most likely be the date set.
In late June school is out for the summer and provides the best options for members to be able to make the trip and attend the meet.
Obviously with two seaters the kids won't be coming but with school out it makes it easier for folks to make arrangements with family or friends to care for them while they are away from home.
2010 Calendar already is set for the following.........
April - Spring Tail of the Dragon
July - Carlisle
August - Woodward Dream Cruise
October - Fall Tail of the Dragon

If they respond I would certainly see what they would do next year.
I'm glad you took the time to contact them so please don't be "Outta here"
Still the key thing that needs to be decided is "location"
At some point there will need to be regional members appointed from those those who are interested in the planning etc.
Don't know how it will all be carried out yet but it's early and we have time to work together and make this happen.
I'm still waiting for (Karl) SRT SIX to come back to the thread and get involved. I have sent him an email and a PM
Stay with us please OK ??

Wow at last a time frame that appears to work for me - Late June/Early July!!! Both Tail dates always hit when business is gong slightly crazy - either Easter/ Pre Xmas - corp visits - its always something.
Any later and the weather gets alittle on the hot side, Inside the car ok - but open the door and melt. I would love to do this event - but am not the master of my destiny and next year is too far out..
but if I can - I'm in

Considering this is June and given the potential logistics of this event, I don't think it would be out of the question to set this up for next year...however, if we can get something decided and going for this year, it is a strong possibility I could still possibly do it.
But I think next year is more realistic
