Ladies and gentlemen.

I need to remind everyone that hotel reservations need to take place this week if you are planning to stay at Harrah's. All rooms must be turned in to the hotel at weeks end.

As there were few arriving on Sunday (20 Jun), I will be turning the remaining rooms in starting Tuesday.

 

We have the track for a road course event on Wednesday evening for four hours.
Mad Med is setting up an autocross. Sorta. But with timed runs of each car.

This will noit be door to door racing but each person will have the track to themselves.
We can do some oval track runs if we wixh but speeds will be limited to 80 MPH so the road course will be much more fun.

Remember, you will need a helmet but as we are running singely the plan is to do a rental thing and share.

Just wanted to let you all know we talked with the hotel and they have agreed to extend the hotel time to reserve a room till next Monday (24 May). There are still rooms available but that will be the last extension.

My thanks to "Gryfan" in Canada for this nice CAA hat. !!!

 

So Roberta & I were discussing our upcoming CAA trek to St. Louis next month. We decided to drive the scenic route across Northern GA's mountains instead of the I-85/I-75 Atlanta route. And we're planning to stop at George Dickel distillery for a photo shoot shortly after we enter TN.

Note: For those considering I-40 West between Asheville & Knoxville be aware that while I-40 West is open, it is only 1-lane of traffic. You will spend time in bumper-to-bumper traffic at 25-30 mph speeds for several miles. Been there; done that! I-40 East through mountains has both lanes open.

 

I have sad news that is also great news. The sad news is that I won't be able to go to CAA. The great news is my reason - I should be closing on my first house at that time. If for some reason the house falls thru then I will of course be attending but it looks pretty good. I actually bought a new garage for my XF & a house for me came attached!!!

I tried to push the closing around for the house but it is bank owned and has a very tight time schedule. Every day I pushed it back was a $150 fee. No bueno!!!

I am really going to miss hanging out with my old friends & meeting new ones. I have been looking forward to CAA for a year and a new house it the ONLY thing that could keep me away. When I looked at the calender and realized what the time was I came up with some new and inventive curse words if I do say so myself, but it still won't get me there. I am going to miss you guys!!!

You are correct, sad news and great news. We were sad to read this, but completely understand your predicament as our oldest is closing on her condo on the 21st. Hopefully see you at another dragon though it looks right as though it will be next year.

Congratulations on the new house.
You will definitely be missed by many of us ...expecially Danimal but a new house is certainly a good reason to miss the GTG.

I really hated missing out on the Spring Dragon. It was un-bearable knowing the tail would be open but without Winniebagos and bass boats. But I did look forward to getting together with you.
It was a bearable decision because you were comiing here.

Let me say this Kim. There are plenty of houses on which to close but there will be only one ST Louis CAA.

It is sad that you will miss all the fun just to tie yourself to a mortgage.

It had better be a great house.
