Hello everybody,
first thanks for the warm welcome and sorry for the late reply. At the moment i'm still trying to convince 2 other guys from the german Crossfire forum to attend to the meeting and also project the trip to the US. But at the moment the trip still hasn't be decided.
Thanks for the offer to take place on the passenger seat. I really appreciate that and i think this is a very very good idea!
Hope i can tell you more at the beginning of next week.
Regards
Markus

Perhaps, while you are here you can tell us what the hell "Farfegnugren" means and what the "R" stands for on my Mercedes gas gauge.

Reserve? That's what my German born father-inlaw said.
No, that's too simple. There has to be an evil secret joke you are playing on us Yanks there somewhere.

I am going in from Pennsylvania. Made my reservations today at Harrah's. Monday night until Friday morning. Right now planning on going out on I-70 west. Probably leave sometime Sunday, run 6 or 8 hours so it isn't such a killer on Monday.

Cathy andIi make the trip 5 or 6 times a year going to CT. Which ever Mount Union you are from the route is the same, get to 76 and then 70 west. Three to four hours puts you into W VA.
Wheeling West VA is 10 hours from St, Louis @ legal speed. I would suggest making it to Dayton Ohio on your first leg. Stay in Englewood right on the highway and the hotels are decent. Then you will have only five hours to St Louis. If you make Indy, three hours.
Take the I270 By pass (sign says Kansas City) and you will come north around St Louis and cross I70 again. Turn right (west) on I70 and Harrahs exit is the first street. Go over Earth City Expressway and take the south route. Plenty of signs.

Thanks Franc
I was thinking Dayton would be a good place to stop. We are near St. College in S/C Pa. That looks like about an 8 hour run for us. Can't check in until 4 pm on Monday. So if we get anyone from NYor New England we could probably stop even before Dayton on Sunday if it is only 5 hours out of St. Louis. I am thinking we would probably have to pretty much run the speed limit if we get a line of cars. Police are sure to notice us. Ron

Cops are tough in PA, easy in WVA, Reasonable in most of Ohio( watch out just west of Wheeling) very lenient in Indiana (except Indy) and horribly hungry for revenue in Illinois.
If you are going to meet up with folks from the east, Harrisburg is a natural. Washington PA is really a good spot. So is Dayton. I wouldn't stop in Columbus unless you are north or west of town.

BTW, I can just about tell you where every Cracker Barrel is on the route.
Skip the one on Post Road in Indy but just west of town is a good one in Plainsfield. Right next to a great Steak House called the "Carriage House."

Ladies, gentlemen, and others that prefer a different classification
Here is a Customized Counter for you to count down to the start of activities to help you get motivated
Time until Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 8:00:00 AM (St. Louis time)
With that in mind, I need to tell you we have 37 rooms reserved, with a couple of members rooming together; one room is mine so I can be available at the hotel should something come up. There are 52 remaining of the original 90 set aside; we lost one due to a scheduling glitch when someone changed their dates (hotel screw up). Either way, we are approaching 50% of our allotted rooms, with only a few months away.
However, we only have about 90 days left before we lose any remaining rooms. Should the room all be reserved in enough time for me to add more, the hotel will gladly do so depending on availability. So if you know you are attending and are planning on staying at the hotel, please make your reservations. If you find that all rooms are booked, drop me a PM immediately and I'll see what I can do to add more.
Also, I need to make this clear as I can - when you make your reservation, please send me (Erzer) a PM letting me know your check-in and out dates as well as the name it is booked under. If someone is rooming with you, please let me know the user name so I can mark them down.
If you have not sent me a PM or email message with your information please do so, I have a handful of names I cannot trace back to forum names and would like to do so.
Here are some links to help you see the schedule and the hotel information.

Schedule post 8 & 9 have the "menu of activities" and other information
