Join our first Crossfires Across America Rally - St.Louis, Mo. June 22, 23 & 24 -2010
re: Join our first Crossfires Across America Rally - St.Louis, Mo. June 22, 23 & 24 -2010
Ichon, the I-64 route doesn't have a whole lot on it thru IN, IL....nice country 4 lane...there is construction from Louisville to Evansville if traversing during the daytime hrs...I-70 route, has some construction, but a lot more pit stops along the way...both will take you about the same time...oh, one other thing to consider, is this is next yr..that construction may very well be over by then....I'll keep you updated...

re: Join our first Crossfires Across America Rally - St.Louis, Mo. June 22, 23 & 24 -2010
All, I was hoping to have the hotel link, but they are moving a bit slow with that regardless, we are called the Crossfire's Across America group and the number is below...
Information:
Crossfire’s Across America – Group S618C
1-800-HARRAHS (427-7247) or (314-770-8100 direct to hotel - recommended)
Event hotel link provided by Harrahs Reservation Link
Reservationist is Beverly during Monday-Friday 8am-4pm at 314-770-8100 or 800-599-6378 (press 0 then ask for her or email at rsvp@harrahs.com (make sure to reference S618C in subj.)
Occupancy and rates
Single/Double $89.00 Triple $99.00 Quad $109.00
We could not convince them to give us breakfast with the rate. Without asking, they did throw in 10 rooms for the weekend prior and additional allocations for after at the same rate.
Breakdown as follows:
6/18/10 – 6/19/10: 10 rooms only for those who wish to enjoy the weekend prior
6/20/10 – 6/24/10: 90 rooms for those who wish to arrive early.
6/25/10: 30 rooms for those wanting to stay through Friday night
6/26/10: 10 rooms for those staying through Saturday night
6/27/10: Regular rates apply and all associated with the event that did not previously do so, must checkout unless you made other arrangements beyond the days above.
Keep in mind they are usually booked 98% full year round, so make sure you make your reservations in a timely manner.
For those of you who are wondering why the site sometimes indicated you can get it as low as $89, keep in mind that rate normally jumps up the closer they get to selling out, this block makes it possible for us to keep the rate down.
As we get closer to the actual meet, I will have to make adjustments on the room numbers. If we have more than the 90, then I can increase them based on availability, so the sooner you reserve the better. If we are approaching 30-45 days out and we don’t have the rooms reserved, I will have to remove them from the block or face a sizable fee; so guess what I'll be doing as I didn't win that Powerball in SC this week.
Once a room is reserved, it is the responsibility of the individual to pay any cancellation fees if not canceled at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled arrival date. Whenever reservations are made and then canceled, the room does not go back to the block.
Here are some links to help you see what they have available.
Virtual Tour - do not click on the Suite or you will be left dreaming what you could have…for those food lovers, the buffet is absolutely wonderful…
Room – best I could find but it is very nice. We were told a single king or two doubles, so make sure you specify
Hotel – ideas of what is available in the hotel, keep this link for later referral as we get closer
St. Louis Itineraries link I found
Arch – at least worth one time up if you have time
Things to do in St. Louis
Address
777 Casino Center Drive

We have enough St. Louis volunteers that each one could drive the route from the outside-St.-Louis-meeting spot and Harrah's, to get a good feel for the route and how much time it takes, and then each 'side' gets a colunteer to follow. Mmm.. Interesting concept. Let me know what you all think.

It does not hurt to ask. Of course, if any TV production crew IS is covering us, the likeyhood of police assistance rises to near 100% (Human nature what it is...)

Hey there everyone,
I plan on making name tags for everyone who attends the Crossfires Across America Rally (similar to the Tail of the Dragon name tags I made, for those of you who attended that).
I want to make sure I don't leave anyone out (all drivers and their passengers/guests) so what I need from you all is the following:
1) Name(s) - Name of Driver as well as all passengers/guests
2) Type of Car
3) Color of Car
4) Where you are coming from - City and State. (I know this information is already up in the list, but just in case your guest is coming from a different area then the driver I want to make sure I get that information correct)
This information will be used to personalize your name tags.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Doc, I fired off a few question to my fellow LEs out that way and they gave the same assessment you did.

Cool and thanks Doc.....I'm planning to leave the 21st and drive straight through. Still waiting to see if anyway is meeting up prior to arriving in STL. I may need that night light.

you know you are welcome....it's just 5 hrs from here...and I can make more room if anyone else is coming with Chas...so don't let that stop you...son #3 just got his first real job after college, so he will prolly be gone again by then...doesn't matter either way...plenty of room...Franc and Kathy survived their stay...so the snoring wasn't too severe...
