Gary, glad to see a safe trip so far. I'll be leaving in 8 hours to meet up with Beaner. Let's hope Paul is heading down from WI or I may end up sleeping in my car!

Too much pain in the world for me.

My brother came out of ICU yesterday - he is in a Michigan hospital and improving. On Monday, I had plans to drive up to say goodbye, missing the dragon. But things have really turned around. Should things go downhill again, I will be leaving the Dragon early and heading right to Kalamazoo.

I almost feel guilty going away to have fun.


But I AM going - got a new battery and put it in myself just now (had the original VARTA Battery from 2004!)

 

Florence won't be the same.....lol

 

I have to leave in 6 hours for my 13 hour drive to the dragon and I cannot sleep wtf. maybe i should have woke up early this morning instead of sleeping in till 10am

 

Molly and I will be leaving Indy in 8 hours (roughly 5:15) to meet the Florence group before you all depart. If traffic should get us held up a few minutes, I will call Gary's cell and let you all know.

See you all soon, looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting plenty of new folks as well....

My convoy (which is really Deb's) will only have four in it.

We'll have a good time, anyway!

 

We had a nice drive today from St. Louis. We met up with Jane and Gary and his wife north of Evansville and had a nice drive down to the Dragon. We didn't get to the Dragon until it was dark. This made for a very fun (IMHO) drive. There was a motorcycle accident on the Dragon. Not sure if the driver survived based in the way the motorcycle looked. Also, an 18 wheeler was trying to come down the hill as well (VERY scary to meet one of these this on this road and while it was dark). There are about 8 or so Crossfires already here. Looking forward to seeing everyone else tomorrow. I have logged about 1450 mile since I left Denver. My wife reported 2 FEET of snow in Denver around 4PM and it was still coming down. I'm glad that I left on Tuesday! EDIT: Oh, and we even got some top down driving in before we hit a bit of rain in the south part of Kentucky. Nothing like flying down I-75 at certain speeds topless.

 

As I log off tonight know that my prayers are for your son and both of you.
I sincerely hope your son's condition improves and without a doubt being with him is most important at this time for all of you.
There is always next spring and fall and you can come join us then.
The route you posted looks nice and I hope the two of you can get away for a short time and just spend some time together.

Sure would be nice if there could be a "major" event like this somewhere out west.

Rick and I should be on the road by 11:00am and be there by 2:00pm. Looking forward to meeting everyone....this is all new to us. BE SAFE EVERYONE!

I'm posting from the lobby at the Fontana Lodge.
I just took attendance and we have 54 Crossfires currently present.
We are all in the lobby now just conversing with one another.
Weather is still dry for now.... so far so good.
Tomorrow may be wet but we can't change the weather.
Looking froward to a fun filled weekend with a lot of good people and Crossfires !!!

 

Some people have all the fun! You guys stay safe, I'll watch the snow melt here!

 

Did rcompart and Mr. Taz make it safely? I asked him to call, but no cell service would make it a bit tough. Or expensive-the phone rates are ridiculous from the Lodge.
