Yep we did sort of drop of the planet for awhile. Both of us got really busy at work. We'll be down at the dragon in July on the motorcycles so it should be fun. We were there about four years ago. It was so busy with squids on sportbikes, grannys with campers, and leaf peepers we bailed. Plus there are so many cool roads there besides the dragon. As I write this I am in Madison, Indiana on a motorcycle tour of southern Indiana. Now there is some wonderful riding. WOW! mile after mile, Nashville, IN, Story, French Lick (my favorite ), and Madison. The X-fires would love it down here.
Herb!!! Thought you were MIA and now a Dragon Run-WOW It's a blast. The road is like driving your own role-e-coaster, except the passenger talks to you and braces themselves all the time
Hope all has been well, were just waiting for better weather. Thanks again for the "Last Open Road" it looks great.
Look forward to seeing you both, maybe at the fall Dragon. Otherwise you'll have left us to drink alone!

As I did the past two times heading down to the Dragon
I'll stay Thursday night (Oct 29) at the Red Roof Inn - Florence, Kentucky.
Crossfirefrank, msgump, msxfire, Rapps Yellow CF will join me and stay at the hotel.
There is O'Charleys a good restaurant walking distance next door for happy hour and /or dinner.
Then on Friday morning we are also joined by tnn14 & James1549 .
We all leave for the 5 hour run to the Fontana Lodge with our first trip through the Dragon in route just before we arrive.
Anyone can come and join us for the pre party again this fall......

Hey Gary,
If you don't mind I would like to tag along. I was planning on taking off Thursday and Monday anyway. It is still a ways off but if that would work maybe we can plan on it? Thanks.
Stay safe...
Respectfully,
Paul (MisterTaz)

Glad .org is back up and running.
Gary, I will be coming to the Tail again. Will arrive Thursday and leave Monday.
For those arriving Thursday or early Friday, I will be making a run to Ashville to take a tour of the Biltmore. Would be cool to have a group go along. In fact, I would be willing to lead that group.

See what ya can do with that to put together a full loop run for this on Sunday.
I see we pass near Cherokee but I'm sure there is a nice route we can take that is different this time

This excursion will be a long day as it is about 2 hours to Ashville and then we'll spend time touring the grounds and Biltmore. Will also have to eat at that restaurant and drink the wine, so by the time we sober up and get home, it will be late.
I'm going to be on vacation that week, so I like to get to the Dragon early for some midweek runs. If, however, people would prefer Sunday, over Friday, that is fine with me. I just didn't want to interfere with already established plans.
I'll need to find out if the Biltmore is open on Sunday and will get back with everyone. Maybe we can do it on Sunday if there is interest. Let me know, folks, if you would be interested in a full day of excursion and I promise to bring us back via the Tail. The Tail is very cool to do at night; no cops and no traffic.

A Biltmore update. The Biltmore is open all year round, so no problem going on a Sunday.
The cost is $59.00 per person. Tickets can be purchased there, but you can save money by purchasing from their website: biltmore.com.
I think this could be fun and add a bit of variety to our gatherings.

I suspect that the group for Sunday may end up divided between going to Ashville to tour Biltmore or a full day of mountain driving.
I misunderstood your plans when you said you were interested in going Friday as I thought you were going to check out the actual run more than the place itself. If you choose to go Friday I'd say go for it and if others go on Sunday I'm sure that a group can form among themselves and go together on Sunday if they choose to.

If a group wants to go on Sunday, I'll hold off and go then. The route is primarily highway, so I really don't need to scope it out prior. Attendees: let me know of your interest.

Jane the Biltmore trip is something I would interested in depending on finances at that time. Its always nice to change things around a little for something different hopefully some others will be interested as well.
