Actually, this shouldn't be a problem for those heading to the Dragon on I-40 West;
I-40W is closed at the 20 mile marker, but you get off 7 miles earlier at exit 27 before I-40 swings north towards Knoxville.

Or one could take I-26 south to I-40 and go west thru Waynesville on 23,441,74 to 28 and on up to Fontana . Come in from the south side. Stay out of Cherokee

Good roads all the way and very scenic.


I would think anything close to the rockslide would be impacted with heavy extra traffic.

I was leaving for work this morning and of course, less than 72 hours before leaving for the Dragon, my car throws a check engine light. First CEL I have ever had on the car, thank god it is the crankshaft position sensor. Autozone has one for $55 and will be there by lunch time. I think I know what I will be doing for lunch today. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the CPS threads, they are a life saver. Maybe I should buy an RCM and keep it on hand

New tires, new upgraded brakes, fresh wax, new CPS , new wiper blades (ICONs of course) and I think we are ready

I have mentioned CICCI to couple of Vet guys on another forum in regards to this run, maybe that's why they are asking about CICCI.

 

Well, I hope you all have a great and safe trip! I won't be able to make it (for the first time since fall of '07) but hope to be there in the spring.

If any were wondering, I have "Degenerative Disc Disease" and it's taking a shot at my upper back/neck this time. The pain is considerable and I have surgery scheduled for November 9th.

I hate missing this, but I'd be more of a PITA than usual.
