On a separate note I emailed the people who have the site in that old post about trucks and driving, here is their response:
Ann:
The trucks are really no problem for alert drivers. There is only one a
day at most and they are traveling slow. Every accident involving a
truck was the car/cycles fault. They run into the truck after it has
stopped. It you are reasonably alert and going somewhat near the speed
limit you'll have fun and no problems. It is actually safer than driving
on the Interstate.

From everything I can see it will be an excellent time. Maybe I could tape the dog and kids to a wall for the weekend, what trouble could they get into then???
--> I think the question is what trouble will I be in when I get home!

You and Gary just have to come down, we need another Yellow(Yellow)Roadster, one on each end for the Group Photo!
I got another Idea, send the Kids & Dog on the Road with the Travelin' Bears for a Week or so..........., they will have a Blast, and you can get updates from them everyday online!

That first part is True, However, re: the Speed Limit, "Are They Kidding"? the Way the "Fox" & Toy, Jeff Cobb, SRT_Flyboy & Irwin, drive that Dragon, it would be Darn right Deadly! SF

re: 1st annual Spring 2008 "Tail of the Dragon" MEET!
Bill- I was just wondering if there is a car wash close to the lodge in case we run into some bad weather on the way down and if not, do you think the lodge might be willing to supply a hose for us to wash are cars if needed.

Great Question to Update once again:
The Lodge has a Free Car Washing Area right next to the Big Meeting parking lot in front of the Wildwood Grill. It has 4 or 5 spaces, a hose, etc & No Money Machine.
There are regular hi pressure car washes in Robbinsville, about 30 mins away.
This Lodge is set up for Sports Cars, because that's what it Does Best.
I'm Very Glad were we able to lock in the First Weekend & Last Weekend of the Year (Every Year), before all the Weekends are gone!
See y'all at the Dragon/Lodge!

re: 1st annual Spring 2008 "Tail of the Dragon" MEET!
Greetings to All -
I just booked my room at the lodge.
Less than 20 remaining, so don't wait too long . . . this is the best curvy stretch of road in the USA, and in the middle of a national forest to boot.
One way or the other I'm going to make it; too much fun not too.
Realy tight at work right now; 4 to cover 3 stores, but I'll place bribes (er...gratuities) if I must. Also, business is slow, but I have a lead on setting up a store in the Robbinsville, NC area - right next to the Dragon & much better $$ and benefits. One can only hope (& try like HE-double hockey sticks!!)
Hey Irwin - you may want to see if you can get MD SRT6 to caravan with you; he's up to 532 whp. Can't let an SRT be spanked by a 600+ hp Uber-Bunny.

See ya there - hope you don't mind the Dragon plug, Bill.

If you are making a Reservation, Make it Now & let me know? The Last Lodge Rooms are going Fast, and there were 90 of them, altogether!
