we'll get almost 100 at that Parking lot all spread out around the curve, but then we need room for those 75 VW R32s!
And I think we are All going to join them for a Catered BBQ, maybe lunch Sat before the Big Loop/Dragon & after the Dam Photo Shoot. (Still in the Planning Stage)
It's going to be a Very Wild Weekend in the Mountains!

Bill- What's the last day on the discount for the lodge? Gary told me but I forgot. I think I'll just go ahead and book my room. Gary's going to stay with me if he can make it.

Some more R32 Chatter from their Forum:
Quote, originally posted by The Toy »I'd still like to know how fast is a supercharged 500 HP R32 in the quarter mile. Anyone!!
Normally we scream search my friend, but since you are a visitor and you fellas seem to be nice I'll give you this:
low to mid 11's
Top speed with stock gearing is near 180. (governor removed of course, FI needed as well) (someone posted a video down hill w/o FI and he hit 170 mph indicated!) I know I can hit 130 fast enough
There is a gear change available that allows speeds over 200 mph. Don't know if anyone have actually done it though. We R32's try not to be all about speed, but hey, I still got a pair hanging, ya know

That's a Good question, I'm glad you asked!
The Dragonslayer Card, get 25% off all stays at the Fontana Lodge, other than Holiday Weekends!
Sign up when you Check in or out! You don't need it for this one, because I already Bargained the Full 25% on our Block of Rooms!
But it's good to have, if you miss the 3/15 extended Deadline for the Block, or go there again on some other Non-Meet Weekend!
My Best,
Bill (SF)

"SNAP - It totally slipped my mind!!!
Luis, there will be a toad licking contest before the first morning run.
The jist of it will be that we will have an as of yet undetermined number of contestants who will all be given a toad to coax into releasing some poison. They will then sit in the passenger seat of a trusted R and be taken on a run of the Dragon while licking said poison.
Whoever can make it through the run without tearing all their clothes off OR screamin in absolute terror of their lives will be named a finalist.
Finalist will then have to endure the experience AGAIN, only in a faster, likely turbo-ed R. This will continue until we have a winner or all contestants have been hauled off to a loony bin...
The winner gets no prize, but his name will run on in infamy at Deals Gap and the rest of the Dragons Den as "That crazy Dub guy who went nuts and saw God on the Dragon - he still hangs round these parts... His name is Chris or something.... but DON'T try to talk to him, he now thinks he is a glass of orange juice and he just sits outside near his .:R32 in the fetal position, rocking back and forth saying 'blub, blub, blub' and mumbling about how he can;t wait til shine season rolls around again..." "Just to clarify, the fastest 1/4mi in an FI R32 is 11.49 by an HPA TT.
The stock 02M tops out at 168mph @7000rpm. FI is NOT needed, but you need a LONG runway if you attempt this NA. The speedometer will register higher because of a calibration issue. The lengthened gearset from the Euro TDi 6spd when swapped into our cars will top out at 202mph @7000rpm. In that case, FI is a MUST."
