Helps if I mention the circumstances of my statement. I meant in a 1/4, drop the clutch and go. I have never auto-x'd the Crossfire so I have no experience with that. The S2000 that I have is a 2.0L 4-cyl and the newer ('04+) have a 2.2L.

Alright this thread has been hijacked because I commented on the person above me's statement, so I will bring it back.

What's the latest from SpeedMax? I want to see this thing running on a dyno.

I'm not talking about stupid drag strip times. That means nothing to me. I'm talking of real word. The S2000 was on my as*, I dumped it on exit 27A onto route 8, I almost flipped the Xfire but after I'm on the straight the lead just kept increasing all the way up to 140 mph. At least 8 car lengths if I remember correctly. He got spanked and then almost crashed. LOL

I didn't want to lose to the S2000 so I was going on exit 27A about 70 mph. Anyone from CT knows that exit, very sharp 360 ramp. But this jerk was on my as* all through heavy traffic, where the F was he going to go? I switched lanes and he just kept on my bumper. :|

So when I got to 27A I decided to see how fast he really wanted to go. On the exit of the corkscrew the car was really at its limit and I could feel the stability management kick in which was a blessing and it sucked at the same time. But I had space on this dude and just kept it floored and he could never catch up.

At the fork for 25/8 I was already braking but this jerk passed me as I was already slowing down, LOL don't you love when they think they passed you and your stepping on your brakes so you don't crash.

Anyway, because he's looking at me he doesn't notice the fork in the road and almost totals the S2000.

My Xfire was just fast enough to show up the rice burner. And for what it is the Xfire is not slow at all. Its just people are forgetting that when a car has 350 hp and you have 215 its kind of unfair. But 215 is not slow. My old 944 turbo had 215 hp and it hauled as*. I think people are to in love of that dragstrip bullsh*t.

FIRST AND FOREMOST I THANK YOU FOR THIS THREAD AND THIS MESSAGE IS TOTALLY POSITIVE TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING BUT I HAVE A FEW CONCERNS. HELP ME OUT...

Hey All,

I would be a player for something that could put me from 215 hp to 300 hp and will max out $7,000.00. I would have to transport my baby up there and would want a time frame on when she was coming home. I've owned 9 cars in my time even an 02 Viper which I kept briefly before getting lucky to sell that Joker for more than I paid for it (ROUGH RIDING MOE FOE & NOT AN EVERYDAY DRIVER BY ANY MEANS I'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE). I could buy an SRT-6 with no problem but don't certain things about them. The fixed spoiler takes away from the "Boat Tail" rear design and "Pop Up Spoiler" which is eye catching and makes the car for me. The two tone interior with grey suede is weak and cheap looking in comparison to the "Cedar Interior" which is classy. The wheels on the car suck more than the largest straw on the planet I.M.O. Nobody in there right minds can say the SRT-6 isn't a Freaking Beast Performance Wise though, and I am jealous as hell of the power. My big concerns are this about your product:

1. Durability at $9,000.00 with no maintenence tweeking and check engine light warnings after long jevity.

2. Warranty with you being way up in North and me having nobody I can take the car to here in Dallas if I have an issue. The dealership wouldn't know where to start with a beast like you are making.

3. The effect that mod's will have with the "Traction Control ESP" system and safety of the light lil booger. I drive over 120 mph daily here and have a ticket for 130 that was clocked at 147 mph that he downed so he didn't have to take me to jail, but the car feels good and I'm in control at those speeds with no unstable feeling.

4. Is this upgrade for $9,000.00 including upgrading the exhaust? With that kind of power increase the factory exhaust would have be obselete and you would have to go to 3 inch or true 2.5 inch tubing wouldn't you?

Help me out... Make me comfortable and prove that it's safe and I may be dumb enough to drop $9,000.00 out the door. From what I read, you are talking over 330 hp which the SRT-6 has and posting 400 - 450 mph which is more way more. Issue is as it's been posted, the SRT-6 has factory backing and is safe. SELL ME AND SHOW ME PICS. YOU ALSO MENTIONED A WIDE BODY KIT.. CLOSE ME!!!!!!

Tye

Sorry... I said 400-450 mph in my text and meant 400-450 hp. My apologies.

this is a 2 year old thread.

I don't believe anyone has been able to contact this member in a while.

Here's a link to a site that shows how the car ended up when it was finished.

If I remember right.......they had a problem with the ECU tuning (surprise) and never really had that fast of a car.

havent hear anything back from speedmax performance, i live in upstate ny, a place near syracuse turbo zone gave me a price of 5k turbo tuned out the door, but i just don't know, i don't wanna be the first to go through with it and start this. id rather be a follower here, i am worried about tuning everything, the fabbing part is not the problem at all, and also what is this thread turning into, is this a s2000 forum now.

they died out a long time ago , before HOP and other MBZ owners figured out how to manage boost on the NA.

I think this car turned into a roller queen for a custom audio fab shop in new jersey or some where out there

were planning on running 10 psi of boost for now on the stock block which we think that it can handle 15 psi.

now i want to know some input on price as is we really looking to sell these things.
lets put it this way if you get this all to work like its factory made i'll be down to have you guys hook it up with moding my xfire

Interesting. I wonder if this infact the roller-only, super-modified Crossfire on ebay a while back (that didn't run).
