Default Garage door openers

I was looking as some Sears garage door openers. Do most work with the Crossfires built in controls. Any suggestions etc.

Thanks

Rabidraider, The transmitter in the Crossfire is a standard Homelink unit, which is compatible with many brands of door openers. Just look for a door opener that says it works with Homelink and you will be good to go.

That happened to me also, the doors went up and down until I got it right. I used the button on the door opener and had to get down the ladder real quick to push the button in the car. I suggest you use another person to help out. My door opener is also from Sears (Craftsman). I even tried to program all three buttons, so I wouldn't have to search. Only one works. I had to reprogram my remotes, the key pad and the main door button in the garage.

I programmed all 3 to open my garage door. So I know it can be done. Just follow the directions to clear out the system and then follow the instructions. It is easy. Just do 1 at a time.
My system is 20 years old and it works on it so I guess it will work on all most any.
You can also go to Homelinks website for all of the instructions.

Mine was easy to program too. Just followed the instruction in the manual.

Maybe you get a little more infos on their page: www.homelink.com or directly in the FAQ section.

Good luck.

The belt drive openers are MUCH quieter. We've had ours for about 3 years and it has worked great. You can't hear it from inside the house at all.

BTW. The transmitter in the xfire only works if the car is on, unlike american cars.

Take a look at the screw-type as well. I have a Genie Excellerator and I'm pretty happy with it. What's neat about it is that it opens the door at about 2x the speed of a standard opener so you don't have to wait as long to get in or out of the garage. It closes at regular speed though...

I don't have an automatic garage door - but - it was easy to program my Legend's door lock and remote start buttons to the Homelink unit. Was entertaining for a little while before my girlfriend caught on - (she uses the acura) !

I've had a problem programming mine. I'm not doing something right. I have Sears/Craftsman chain drives on both doors. When I get a warm day, a few extra minutes and a helper I'll try again.

I too can't get my Sears/Craftsman belt driven to work. The owners manual says to do it with the car off, but the light on the roof console won't light up. I tried it with the power on and got the light working, but it won't program.

Go to Homelinks website. It gives good instructions.
I have a 20 year Sears unit and it works.
