2006 Crossfire?
Re: 2006 Crossfire?
I just went to the Karmann home page in Germany. There is no news about canceling the XFire. All of the wallpaper downloads are there, and they had photos of a new model Roadster with a custom leather top, in lieu of the canvas. If they were no longer building the car, I am sure their news page would have mentioned it.
IMO DC may have a problem with dealer interest. And, that is why we are not seeing 06's or just seeing 1 or 2 here and there.
Chrysler cannot force the dealers to take the cars. And, if you have 04' and 05' cars, which are costing you money, sitting on the lot, why would you order 06's? This is the ultimate Catch 22 for a dealer. This car is too expensive to continue to be the DC loss leader. Even with incentives, the dealers were taking a beating with cars on the lot for 300 days +. I am sure not many of them are interested in reliving that nightmare.

Re: 2006 Crossfire?
There seem to be quite a few Crossfires available in the Cleveland, OH area at the five star dealerships. I asked my dealer and he told me he has received no information on when or if the 2006 Crossfire will be available. They don't expect to know anything until "late spring". There is no sales literature or order info for the 2006 models either. Seems strange to me too, but with so many 2005 models available it would be reasonable to want to reduce the existing inventory before offering the 2006.
Or maybe they're still working on that SPARE TIRE and CUP HOLDER problem. Hahaha!

Re: 2006 Crossfire?
I just did an email to "Karmann", I figure they'll know if a 2006 Crossfire is coming out anytime soon.

Re: 2006 Crossfire?
Here is the email from Karmann concerning the production of the Crossfire...looks like there will be a model change in 2007... I wonder what that means? Maybe a new V8 engine?

Re: 2006 Crossfire?
I figure you can push the HP on the Crossfire you got now up to over 250 HP for a little over $1,500.00. Trick out the ECU - Exhaust - some type of cool air intake - hotter plugs - less weight (no HP but faster) - Octane (no HP but keeps the engine firing at optimum timing) - Higher volume electric fuel pump so you're never starving for fuel.
