Default Hyper Voltage System

Has anyone tried to install one of these? How does it help in gaining better performance?

I'm not sure I would spend $224.99 to "feel the competitive spirit of CYBER SPEED." Sounds like a lot of marketing BS to me. They claim increased torque, etc... yet they do not post any dyno runs or customer testimonials. I would be wary... You might be better off with one of these if you think your battery is not putting out enough juice. They are tried and true.

I also read of something similar on the Edmunds Crossfire Forum, I am also kinda interested in this item and the Magnacor wires. Here is the post from that forum:

About six weeks ago, I bought a "new" '04 Crossfire (6 speed) and, so far, I've enjoyed this little car as much (or more) than anything I've owned over the years (the list includes several Bentleys, a Rolls, a Maserati, a Citroen, Mustangs, Lincolns, and many others)! For a purchase price of $23,800, there is NOTHING that comes close in value!

Being the inveterate tinkerer that I am with all my vehicles, I immediately began to look for "bolt on" accessories to give just a little more "oomph" (though, stock is pretty impressive!) and to date have done three things:

1) K&N Filters (takes two #33-2290) - order from anywhere!

2) InaZma HyperVoltage System (mfgd by Sun of Japan) (available from link title- they have been just super to deal with - responsive, helpful, etc.- go to the website and you can read about the system). A friend of mine with an '04 Mazda RX8 added one to her car with similar results - a bit more torque, smoother and faster accelerator response!

3) MagneCor KV85 Competition Ignition Wires - part #65211(link title- custom made per order) - great service!

All of these items have improved the performance of my CF without question! The biggest effect came with the installation of #2 (parts were installed a few days to weeks apart in the order noted above).

To DIEHL: Check out link title - they carry some nice aftermarket parts (cosmetic/appearance and performance) - they list a chrome grill for the CF which looks great! I have NOT ordered from them yet, so cannot speak to their service...

I have NO financial interest in any of these companies (darn it)!

I agree with you about this product and that the claims are B.S. since this type of product has been around for a while now. The assumption is that the stock electrical system is worn from multiple years of use or is faulty in some way thus them being able to say "increase hp, torque, blah, blah, blah," Neither of these factors should be present in '04, '05 Crossfire's under warranty.

I have never seen an unbiased dyno done and probably for good reason...it doesn't do a darn for increasing power unless you have one of the conditions above.

I have used Magnecor KV85 wires in many applications and I have had excellent results with them. They're nice and beefy and in the motorcycle applications I have used them on (H-D & Buell) the engines ran noticeably better.

I've tried the tornado in my Crossfire for $50 each air intake and it seemed to work in my mileage and maybe in the torque?

Hyper Voltage System...maybe I should try it also? If you're doubtful, you should try it to prove your doubts or swap cars with another Crossfire that has it and compare!

My point exactly...dyno's on an almost 10 year old car so who knows what shape the stock wires and grounding was in before the kit was installed.

Same theory applies when someone dyno's there stock car with a well-worn and dirty air filter before then drops in a brand new K+N and does another run...of course the second runs numbers are going to be higher, just in the fact that the filter is clean...On an older car the only way to truly validate the results is running a test with a properly connected and secure electrical grounds and installing new OEM wires to begin with then repeat the dyno with these "magic" wires on the car. It would be truly surprising to see more then maybe 1-2 hp. difference if that...

Please don't say you also have bought that gas oxygenating thing that clips onto your fuel line that is ran on those late night TV ad's that's suppose to increase fuel mileage by some huge number?


Forgetting about the unproven facts behind the "tornado" wouldn't the simple fact that no automaker has bought the rights or developed a similar concept for their OEM intakes make the idea hogwash? With hybrids selling like hotcakes and small car ad's bragging about how there vehicle gets "x mpg's more then..." it would make little sense why they would not incorporate this "tornado" concept into there vehicles intakes since this product has been out for a while now...

Actually if you check out www.greenfilters.com they already use the same principle of the tornado incorporated with their $300 each twister green filter for crossfires.

If you have high - end home theater system, hyper voltage system is the same principle as the Monster Cable Voltage regulator / line conditioner and high - end gold cables. They make the sound much more cleaner and crispier and the colors much better than regular cables. With a 1,000 watts subs in my trunk, although I have a separate battery for my audio system, I bet it still takes off some power in my crossfire.

While Green makes some nice drop in filters that still would not explain why OEM manf. have not adopted this technology if part of the solution to greater MPG's is that simple.


While gold connectors help to minimize signal degradation and help to ensure a corrosion-free connection point; significant corrosion buildup issues on a new car's electrical system should not be an issue. If it is, a simple 10 min. clean-up job would save you the $230 bucks and give you the same results.

I hope you understand that the extra weight and load the second battery and subs puts on your car negates any gains these "hyperwires" could ever hope of achieving...

Doc - I think the crossfire intake manifold on the 84 Vette has "tornado" type air busters under the two injectors... I'm not sure what a person would call those things, but they look like fan blades, and if I remember right, those propeller looking “do dats” cause the incoming air to go into some type of swirling air motion ( or turbulence ) and therefore the fuel is more atomized by the time it gets inside the firing chamber... but the '84 Vette kinda sucked for real HP... so maybe an OEM did kinda buy into that "Tornado" trash, but later dropped the idea... hooah

Here's another link that Mercedes Benz E Class uses the same Tornado principle in their engines. It states the following:

"Each cylinder is supplied with air through two inlet ducts. One of these is a spiral swirl port designed to generate a fast-moving swirl movement and the other a tangential port optimized to ensure effective filling and high output. The spiral swirl port whips up the air into a fast-moving swirl before it enters the cylinders, ensuring an optimum mixture of fuel and intake air under partial loads."

Would have to say I've never read an article that describes an engine as having "majestic output and torque" before...

Swirl port cylinder heads are nothing new and I remember them being on small-blocked Chevy's many years back. But its a totally different ballgame to get a tightly swirling airflow pattern on a large scale to happen in a relatively long-distanced intake system with multiple curves compared to getting that concept to work on small and individually designed cylinder intake ports...

Can you then give us some facts and calculations as to what happened to the swirling air that passes the tornado?

We cannot just believe you also as you want us to believe your argument without data and facts to support it. Your opinion and my opinion are just plain OPINIONS without scientific data to support it.

The Tornado and other manufacturers though made some study about it that you cannot discount unless you can show your own data and study to contest their claims. Thus, making your opinion at this moment just a plain hearsay.

Since you have the mechanical knowledge about it then maybe you can give us some technical data why it don't work rather than insult the intelligence of Tornado's inventor?
