New Mopar Supercharger for under 2k!!!?
Re: New Mopar Supercharger for under 2k!!!?
i hope the warranty will cover it. i never drop or feather the clutch, but i won't lie i do drive hard and fast (what else do you do with a sports car?) i don't think they'll find any excessive wear in regards to "racing" but even if they do I worked for the dealership in sales and now the service people, so i'm sure they'll get it done for me. as far as an upgrade, you think it will shifter smoother from 1st to 2nd? i can never get a nice clean shift, no matter how i drive. i have to throw the shifter a lot harder to make sure it engages and what not.
Re: New Mopar Supercharger for under 2k!!!?
i think its got to be the tranny, cause after the first week, it turned to "slush". the shifts aren't as smooth feeling or direct. now, this might just be me on accident when driving fast. but once again I didn't have this problem when I first got it, where it didn't take as much effort to go from second to third. pretty much tap the thing up and it would go, but now it seems when i shift once in a while it goes in between like 3rd and 5th and don't engage at all. kind of like a missed shift, but why would it start happening now after having the car a year? so is it me, the car, or both? i wonder if could test drive one to see if there is a difference.

Re: New Mopar Supercharger for under 2k!!!?
do you know how long this will take? because A) I need a car to go to school and work, B) I don't want to get stuck with a chevy cavalier rental car for a week, cause at $400 a month for my payments. that would be a $100 to drive a cavalier, would you pay that? And I doubt that the dealership would give me a decent demo car or something. I definitely want to get it fixed cause a smoother and quicker shift to second would be nice and help my times probably.
Re: New Mopar Supercharger for under 2k!!!?
I think i'm going to my nearest MB Dealer and try and bribe one of there Master Mechanics to give me a hint on this thing!!! As an aside...I would love to see a thread on Mod's that actually worked... ecu's, intakes, etc. There's a lot of frustration in this forum, could be the Hybrid mix of Chyrsler/Benz...right hand not telling the left hand what really works! just my 2C.
Thanks for the shoulder!

cross1- hopefully something will come of this, and i know eventually one day someone will be able to mechanically and financially for a reasonable amount put something together. I've thought about talking to local chrysler dealers and who knows, maybe i'll get lucky and get a sponsorship to where I could get some financial backing. I wouldn't care if I had a little logo of the dealer or what not on the car, but i obviously would be buying the car at the end of the lease then, but hey, then it would actually be worth keeping.

Either way, so said your leasing your car then it would have to turn into a purchase. ok? I will bet your balance at the end of your lease will be more then what you would be able to p/u another Crossfire with the same miles/condition etc.

As for warranty issues the ECU, unless your just really careless and damage the housing there is no real way for the dealer to know it's there. Worst case is the dealer will "re-flash" your modded settings to factory if they think it's causing a problem. As for my pulley, my plans are to go thru Kleemann which has a long track record with M.B.'s and I've seen there quality work firsthand. Also Kleemann includes a warranty with there work.
As for the last comment of posting about a car I don't have...I'm not sure if your bipolar disorder is kicking in or something but this is the same car that you praised in my pic thread:

Re: New Mopar Supercharger for under 2k!!!?
i was talking about the base crossfire and the factory suspension and brakes will do just fine unless your planning on going out and doing some HARDCORE lapping, in which case the srt6 suspension may not even be the best option. and im glad you mentioned kleeman because that THE SAME COMPANY THAT CONFIRMED THE STOCK 6 SPEED CAN HANDLE THE POWER JUST FINE. they said up to 350, no prod. and their warranty has NOTHING to do with the engine, they warranty their parts.

If you feel the stock 6-speed can handle 350+ hp. be my guest and prove me wrong. I won't even get into the topic of long-term reliability with that stress on a stock tranny.
Re: New Mopar Supercharger for under 2k!!!?
just about every car running around with superchargers is running on a stock tranny. . also, use the h&r cup kit and the sway bars from the srt and i guarantee the car handles at least as well as the srt for about 500 bucks. i've been in this scene a long time. also, how do you, in your previous post, praise kleemans, then when i tell you they use the stock tranny for the supercharger upgrade you discredit me.

I agree, a nice H&R kit might to do the trick...but your statement was that the stock base Crossfires suspension was just fine with the increased hp.

Until someone actually starts to undertake this project you have no idea what the total will be. My statement is it will be more then this thread's title (under 2k) which is true since the supercharger itself is not going to be a direct bolt-on so it's going to cost more then 2k, alot more if you do it correctly.
If not, when someone gets the supercharger for under this price, and gets it to work properly on there car, I will start a brand new thread stating "I was wrong, you can get a supercharger and get it to work right under 2k, _____ did it!"
Again, until someone does this you have no idea if the tranny will hold up or not. What I said is that I would not be the owner of a car I just doubled the hp. on and hope the stock tranny will keep up. If someone takes the time and effort to do this project, do it right, and if nothing more then a safety net; look into beefing up the stock 6-speed in if your in the neighborhood of 350-400 hp. range. If it was me, I would like my car to last a little longer the a dozen or so quick launches...
