Button in lower dashboard
Re: Button in lower dashboard
It's not a button. It's a warning light that tells you when the passenger airbag is turned off. I think it's a law in the US that if a car or truck doesn't have a backseat, the passenger airbag has to be able to be turned off so you can put a child seat in it.

Yup light to let you know the pass airbag is off, used this feature today when I took my 4 year old for a ride. There is a key slot on the pass side dash accessible only when door is open. I know this in mandatory for the USA, don't know about foreign laws.
Now I just need to find an attractive way to keep the child seat from messing up my leather.

Thank you for your replies. Correct, in Europe we don't have such light installed in the dashboard. I've never experienced turning off the airbag system. There is a key hole on the side dash to disable it. But doesn't the warning lamp, left to the odometer, light up as well? So when you guys in US disable the airbag you have 2 lamps lighted?
Thanks and greets.

Stryfox, pretty cool how fascinated kids and adults are by the looks of the xfire isn't it? You're comment reminded me of a comment my ex-gf's nephew made when he first saw the car...'you got a batmobile!!!' Better still was a late 30 something blonde woman I pulled up next to last Sunday in a brand new Corvette. "I like your car" I said. She replied "I like yours!" I told her "you'd smoke me off the line though". She smiled and said "You're probably right!" Then the light turned green and she did! ;-)

I got a similar comment. Not from a kid but the 40 year old sister of my gf when I gave her a ride. The next day she was asked by her friends what car she's been in. "Oh, well, Crossblade or Fireblade? Don't know the name anymore but surely a James Bond car!"

Re: Button in lower dashboard
Hi Stryfox,
I take my little grand daughter in my car all the time. I took a beach towel the color of my interior (grey) and had someone sew a curve in the top, so that it fit over the top of the seat. I tuck it on the sides of the seat, before I put her car seat in...It works great!
