Crossfire hacks to make it mine!

Re: Crossfire hacks to make it mine!
I wish I could find the reason why somebody who owns a Chrysler would want the person in the car behind them think they were behind a Mercedes Crossfire.
The Crossfire was the talk of the town in 2002 and now people are trying to hide it in plain sight.
I realize that the car has fallen in price that but adding cheap badges and radios makes it even cheaper.
Making it mine often makes nobody else want it.😏

Also also the Chrysler logos when you remove them are nothing but cheap plastic that crumble into pieces when you remove them the car is made in Germany and it was design by karrman so I would rather show homage to where the car originally was from and put the German logos on that should be on the car but again it's my car and I can do as I please and it's my personal preference

Although I’m 100% aligned on your thinking, I can also understand the desire to add different bling
(bling is not a bad term, I just use it as a placeholder)
There is a large aftermarket for just about everything and that lends to the uniqueness of the vehicle.
Everyone wants to express who they are and Bling on a car allows us to do it.
For me personally, I’m really happy to display the chrysler logo, they make and have made some really great iconic cars. Ours is one of them
charger
challenger
prowler
300 gen 1 and Gen 2
just about any late 60’s early 70’s B body (really like the GTX drop top)
Whenever someone asks what it is and I tell them, they look, pause and then say wow.
good enough for me
(In my mind MB doesn’t really want this car so why would I want to go out with someone who didn’t want to be out with me.)
All my own thoughts. As I said earlier, I can see both sides and appreciate everyone’s ability to be different.
it would be really boring if the only Crossfire colour was Aero Blue, good thing there were better colours available

that metal case surrounding it with all those bendable tabs is first inserted into the radio hole and secured by bending the proper fitting tabs up/down.
Then the cheap-*** radio just slides in. The two metal things pictured are the tools to then remove the radio when you realize you just wasted $29.

Re: Crossfire hacks to make it mine!
Didn't think I was going to start a "PUREST" feud on the forum! After all the title of the post is "hacks to make it mine." Should I "ever" decide to sell it all the hacks could be made back original for the purest out there. I like what I've done and will be doing in the future as I get "ideas" from forum members. After all it's a Mercedes with Chrysler badges. I've never been a big fan of Chrysler products. "Just sit back and enjoy the ride!"

Re: Crossfire hacks to make it mine!
I was looking under the car when I 1st bought it and found a rubber "something" laying on the transmission cross-member. It looks like a dog bone with holes in the end and is about 5" long and 1/4" thick. Does anyone know what it is and where it goes. I looked in the Service Manual and can't find anything about it. Thanks

Re: Crossfire hacks to make it mine!
"When it rains it pours!" Took my Crossfire to a quality repair shop to check out the front end. They found on the drivers side that the lower control arm bushings were bad and is why it wants to pull to the left. They told me to replace the bushings required a new lower control arm, BS, and that the bushings weren't replcacable. I looked online and found bushing for $87 for both sides. So rather than get into a pissing contest I told them to do both sides. Labor and parts is going to be $1036.00 to do the job. Made an appointment for Monday. Unless there is something I don't understand about pressing in bushings I plan on using the old control arms, cleaning them up and pressing out/in new bushings with my 20 ton press. I'll try on selling them as rebuilt on eBay or here on the forum. Any conflicts that I'm not aware of? Thanks

I mean pressing new bushings into the existing control arms.
I need to do mine and that is a far more cost effective solution to buying the complete arm
Re: Crossfire hacks to make it mine!
After I read your post I went down the rabbit hole looking for the bushings. First search shows lower control arm with bushings, you have to dig deeper to find the bushings only
I saw the same ones earlier today
I hope you take this on. I’m looking forward to seeing the results.
