Default Installed MOMO and Pioneer AVIC-N2 (PICS)

Over the past few weekends I took some time out to work on my crossfire. Last week I had a friend help me install my Pioneer In-dash Navi system. Actually my buddy did all the work, I just provided encouragement.

This weekend I was cleaning out my closet when I found a few MOMO shift ***** from my family's old shop. I installed the F16 Evo with black leather trim. I'm not sure if I like the higher grip but I will give it a shot. The stock one looked smoother but I just hated the way it felt. The MOMO feels great and shifts so much nicer. Plus it looks very exotic.

Next week I am going to install the iPod interface for the navi. After that I am going to finish my custom shift boot. I still have a few ideas that I am going to begin work on this winter. I can't wait till I have more time.

BTW, I have pics in my gallery of both mods.

Nice setup...I was also thinking of the N2 before I bought my HU but just didn't like the idea of some of the interior buttons being covered up while the screen was up...

Could you post a pic with the screen tucked away? I'm definitely going to get the avic-n2 but wanted to check out the aesthetic.

GoodEnough, I will post more pics today. Sorry for the bad quality. I spent all my money on my xfire and didn't save enough to buy a decent digital camera.

Very awesome. But I need an LCD that my girlfriend can watch Sex In The City while I drive. Which of the LCD will do that. Is there a way to defeat that?

thanks

I have the N2 in my company car (Acura RSX) and love it. It's not paid for itself yet, but is quickly coming to be an essential part of my daily driving.

HAHAHA, I was wondering if anybody would notice the mats. My uncle works at the dealership that the mats came from. He gave me a few sets so, I wouldn't ruin my stock ones. I put them over my stock ones when its just me so, that my stock ones stay clean. When I take people for rides or out I just put my "Beater" mats in the trunk. Believe it or not it saves a bunch of time and money...

There is a way around that. I am getting a XBOX 360 and installing it in a few months. All you have to do is hook the XBOX video input to the Rear View Camera input. You are allowed to watch that input while driving. Then just wire the sound to the normal AV input. Any alternate source will work, (PS2, XBOX, DVD Player, etc.). By Christmas I should be able to watch DVDs with a High Definition Video and an INSANE sound system while driving to school.

My next is dynomat'ing the entire interior. Then two 8 inch LCD screens for the sun visors. After that, a 24 inch screen custom mounted to the back of the bulkhead behind the seats. I cant wait...

I have the Kenwood KVT-M700 coming in the mail. Does that unit have an rear view input? I know it has 3 video inputs but I'm trying to figure out if I can bypass this whole only when you're parked thing.

I got the KVT-M700, all the stuff that came with it and a Kenwood CD changer for $450!

First I have to say that you got an incredible price on that package. That is a very good unit for the money.

You shouldn't have much trouble watching DVDs on the Kenwood HU. All you have to do is run a switch for the eBrake wire. If the system thinks you have your brake up then you will be able to watch whatever you want. The problem with the Pioneer is the software. It senses the car moving with the GPS tracking. Even if you have your eBrake "UP" the system will still know that the vehicle is in motion. The only input that you can watch is the rear camera. That is the reason for having to "Trick" the system.

You can bypass the lockout if you ground the parking brake wire and open up the unit where you will find two pins that need to be connected. If you buy the N3 they installed a switch that you can actually use to by pass it. Check out Avic411.com
