new guy 2004 price? help
I have a buddy that has a 2004 crossfire, it is in excellent condition, 20,000 miles with the autostick. He is thinking about selling it to fund a different car. What is a fair price to offer him?
I keep reading that the resale is low, The kelly blue book lists a trade price of 20k
Do you think the dodge dealer would really give him 20K trade on a new rumblebee truck?
Thanks for any insight.

Re: new guy 2004 price? help
Ok, my friend said the dealer would give him $25,000 for his 2004 crossfire.
Either the dealer is nuts or he is making it up. either way i'm not buying it.
My local dealer has two 2004 x-fires, one with 20 miles and one with 34 both are auto sticks, listed price $26,999.
This is still a little steep for me. $23-24,000 i could do for a new one.
I have never bought a NEW car from a dealer before. How should I try to talk them down? Is this a good price and should i start looking in the used market?
Thanks for any help.

If you are serious. Go to your bank/credit union and obtain an Letter of Credit for $23,000. Walk into the dealer, find the sales manager, and tell him," I want that car, and here is the $23,000 I am willing to pay." No fuss, no muss...do not let them badger you into paying more then you can afford. I have used the Letter on several occasions, and it always worked. They know you are serious. Good luck... remember they REALLY want to sell you the car. If push comes to shove, walk out the door. You have nothing to lose by playing hard ball. You can always go to another dealer.

He is absolutely right.
I saw an 04' Limited leftover with only 60 miles in Alabaster and loaded with everything except navigation. The sticker was $35,700 and they had it marked down to $28,5000
I walked in with a check for 1,000 as a deposit and said that I'd be back tomorrow and that I wanted the car for $23,000. I then left my info and left the dealer.
The next morning at 10 am I got a call from Stevens Chrysler that they had accepted my offer. Out the door with taxes, title, and plate I paid $24,343.
Bottom line, be confident and let them know you know what you want to pay. You'll get what you want.

They could not find the owners manual, any suggestions?
I can't believe I got a true performance luxury car for this much. A good value indeed.
2004 autostick slate gray! 40 miles.
