Potential New Owner
Re: Potential New Owner
I also considered many other cars in the process...
2005 Mustang GT - NEW - impossible to find one and never got to actually drive one. Dash and interior looked cheesy on the standard models.
Honda S2000 - 2004 - Car was very small inside, and was not comfortable for me. engine was VERY peppy, just too small of a car and had little to offer for the price.
350Z - used - felt good inside, lots of power, but rumors of maintenance issues turned me away. Price was a little high.
Mini Cooper S - new - Price a little high, performance was not on par with the rest.
Infinity G35 - Price just outside of my range but worth it if i could have found one in
a good color and wasn't abused. Brembo brakes lead me to believe that it might be a
high maintenance vehicle in the future, Insurance higher than the rest. kept going back to the 350Z due to lower price (since it was eventually the same car).
Like it was mentioned above, the price or perceived price of the Crossfire was the sole reason for me walking right by it time and again. After noticing the price in the window of one at Carmax i was amazed, and drawn to it like a magnet. I knew nothing about it and bought it right away. Initial likes were the sound as the engine revved up, the air cleaner cover looked cool, the 2 tone leather interior was great looking, the KEY is really neat.
I just wish now it had 20 more HP and the seats moved back another 5 inches, and it had an actual working cup holder. I wouldn't mind the auto stick to shift a little more abruptly as well. Some touch up paint for the car would be nice too...(body and wheels).

Hey figitt and juddz
WOW! That is awesome! You both had named some highly admired competitor vehicles. It’s amazing to see the devoted fan base the Crossfire has created! The Crossfire is definitely enjoyable yet as well as affordable.
As for the seating figitt, it will take a small matter of time to adjust yourself to the seat where you’ll be comfortable.
Looking in your Gallery, is that a Coupe Limited? Nice! You stated that you wanted more horsepower. As I noted in the last post, have you checked out the Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6? It has 330hp.
Let me know if you want more information.
Talk to you soon
Thanks
Kelly
P.S. lol I’m glad to hear you like the “key” (wink)

Re: Potential New Owner
It was very interesting to read what you all say about your Crossfires. I just purchased a 2004 Crossfire last week with only 2,500 miles on it. It is a gorgeous car in the Sapphire Blue color with two tone grey leather seats. So far the car has been a blast to drive and I must admit it has the 6 speed which I find to be just fine with shifting. I guess even we 50 year olds can have fun with this car...haha.
Must admit though I haven't found quite the correct seat position yet, so I am still playing with that and being 6 ft. 2 in. tall I do have plenty of headroom.
I go along with the rest of you that this car is an absolute steal compared with other vehicles in the $25,000 range...I traded for this one and got a great deal!!
One question I have for you all...does your car pull to the right? It seems as if mine does but maybe it is just me.

Re: Potential New Owner
I've found that my car... is quite sensitive to the slope of the road and if there is even the slightest crown to the highway it will trail off in that direction if you let it. On level roads it runs straight as an arrow. I worked in alignment in my younger days, and know from experience that small caster numbers give better handling on a car with wide tires like this... making steering very light and quick to turn. But on the other side of the coin, it follows the crown of a road and sometimes cracks and stripes too. I know one road here in town is badly routed by heavy trucks and it is quite hard to hold straight when braking hard on that road. Just a nature of the beast... or... yours is out of alignment... might be worth a check at the shop.

To your problem, mine doesn't pull to any side. Apart from road unevenness as mentioned in the last post, mine goes straight.
If you're sure it's not you ... get your alignment checked.

Re: Potential New Owner
Thanks for the responses...I will have the alignment checked just to make sure...it isn't terrible but noticeable. Having the car for such a short period of time I am still learning about it. Sounds good Wayne, I will hold out a little longer and shift at 3000 rpms...to be honest I have been shifting before that point. The engine is really smooth and has good pickup...I was surprised that 215 horse could feel that good!! I also own a Magnum with the hemi in it and it doesn't feel any faster then this Crossfire. But then again it is a wagon and weighs 4100 lbs. compared to the Crossfires 3000 lbs.
