Default New Crossfire Owner

2004 - 6 speed crossfire in dark grey; stock. dark charcoal interior.

I just printed out the tutorial on how to change the oil in this, but it seems there aren't many performance modifications out for this. I'm scheduled to order the H&R cup kit and spacers. What else is there to get? What's the rim sizes?

Same car as mine. Welcome.

The ECU reprogram and the K&N filters adds a little umph. That's all I have done and probably will do. The Borla cat back would be nice, but $700? I think not. Drive it and enjoy the envious stares. Let them think it cost $60,000. Most people really don't know how much this car really is.

I was looking at andrew's car on this forum; i think i'm going to be doing the suspension he did. there isn't any room to speed around here anyway. i'll probably get the K&N done then, any intakes for this car? stock exhaust is nice i think as it is.

thanks!

i really like the suspension set-up i chose. the koni's compliment the eibachs. if you want to get more aggressive...you can always stiffen up the shock with a small adjustment.

i purchased my goods through the tire rack.

You might order front rotex gold brake pads ASAP, at brakeworld.com.

Dan, why only the front? I thought you installed to keep away dust... Because the stock pads and discs do very well imo.

Hi Core, congrats to your car. You'll love it. Like all in this forum and many more around the world...believe me.

Always safe drive.

only fronts because the front rotors do 80% of the braking, the rears don't get very dusty and there is little if any performance increase with the rotex pads, in short, the front wheels get horribly covered in brake dust in less than a day while the rears are still clean. don't waste the money on the rears, unless your itching to spend.

Correcto moondo! the rears are about the same after the change to fronts. Just fronts is all you need and I've had squeaking on my other car that I did rears! Had to change them back to oems.

Yo, sure the front ones do the most braking work, but the rear do a lot of dust too. Thanks for info, that they shouldn't do. Will keep an eye on it.

i did rotex pads front & rear. my philosophy...do and do it right. what's an extra $70 bucks. because the oem rear pads do put off dust (less than the fronts...sure). but it's done as a full set imo. no dust here...front or rear!

My front rotex gold pads put off dust too but it's equal to my rears with OE pads and I never use a hose on my wheels in 20k miles just wipe with megs' detail spray! I clean them once a week...about every 250 miles.

@ Core: www.brakeworld.com

@ Dan: What spray do you use? I don't clean my rims that often on the inside. Awful to get my hand between the spokes.

I haven't had to wipe insides much since I changed pads and waxed them. maybe twice! I don't drive in the rain. they're do for inside wash soon.
