Thanks and goodbye
Thanks and goodbye
I have had my Crossfire for almost a year here in Scotland, UK. It has been fun, but as a previous PT Cruiser owner, I really missed that car. Every time I saw one on the road, I got a lump in my throat. So, I have done the deed, and tomorrow I pick up a new PT Cruiser, Bright Silver and the old Crossfire gets left at the dealer.
OK, so I lost a bit of money, but its been a great experience. But cant wait to climb back into the PT. They both have great looks, both cars!!
I still have only seen 2 Crossfires in a whole year's driving here in Scotland. A rare breed!!
Greetings to all from Bonnie Scotland

I too owned a PT Cruiser prior to my Crossfire. Here in the States, you can not drive 5 miles without seeing several PT's, so the uniqueness is gone.
Now the real reason I traded it in....I could not reach the roof to wash it without a step stool. So, I had no recourse but to buy the Crossfire. That's my excuse and I'm sticking by it!

LOL!! Dadof4 is just razzing you guys!
Have fun with the PT Cruiser. That and the XF are 2 completely different cars. When I found out that they build the PT on a Neon chassis, it kind of turned me off. I really like the feel of the ride of the xf, and the looks, of course. But this is Michigan, and you're in Scotland, so things may be different so far as popularity.
Drive safe, and have fun Dadof4!
(are your 4 still at home, or maybe you have grandkids that ride in the pt with you?)

2006 pt info...
http://www.cnn.com/2005/AUTOS/06/16/...ser/index.html
"The headlights have a scalloped shape along the bottom and the grill no longer extends below the front bumper. Overall, the front end has a somewhat flatter and lower appearance.
Mechanically, everything's the same except the turbocharged version of the engine gets a 10 horsepower boost. It now produces 230 instead of 220 horsepower.
Inside, the Cruiser takes on a look more in keeping with new Chryslers including the signature analog clock like that on the Chrysler 300 sedan. There's also more storage space in the glove compartment and center console.
The seats are also new and improved".

What I like the most is when someone pimped in his BMW or drives so close to my rear and try to force me to change the lane for passing me. Then I only need to shift down, step on the gas and watch him disappear in the rear mirror. When he catches up again after a while. ;-) I just send him a very friendly smile through the mirror. This only happens to morons who don't know what the GT means...
Re: Thanks and goodbye
I must be lucky to have the PT and the XF. A friend has the PT convertible with the 2.4 Turbo. Only available in LHD, but it is pretty quick 0.60 in a reported 6.8 seconds in a straight line. Am trying to persuade the wife to give up her PT and let me get the SRT-6 Roadster, so we have a XF whatever the weather.
Good luck with your new PT Saltire. I will be at the PT Picnic in the Park in September.
