Any way to put in the Eibach springs and not have the dealer find out
Any way to put in the Eibach springs and not have the dealer find out
I want to keep my warranty and am looking for springs that will lower the car but won't be so drastic that the dealer will notice and cancel my warranty when I go in for oil changes.
I'd like a 1.0 inch drop at most, nothing more. Are the Eibachs a good choice?
Also, if I upgrade the ECU chip will they find out?
Sorry for the stupid questions but I just want to make sure I keep my warranty while still doing a little customizing.
Thanks.

LOL, I told my sales guy and service guy I wanted to put the springs and they said, that I would lose my warranty. They were very very serious about it. What gives?
Also, I really don't want more than an inch, do you think these springs will "sink"?
Thanks again.

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act covered these issues. Here's a very good page on the SEMA site regarding aftermarket modifications and warranties:
http://www.sema.org/main/semaorghome.aspx?ID=50096
This paragraph is particular should be noted:
Federal law sets forth requirements for warranties and contains a number of provisions to prevent vehicle manufacturers, dealers and others from unjustly denying warranty coverage. With regard to aftermarket parts, the spirit of the law is that warranty coverage cannot be denied simply because such parts are present on the vehicle, or have been used. The warranty coverage can be denied only if the aftermarket part caused the malfunction or damage for which warranty coverage is sought. Disputes in this area usually boil down to arguments over facts and technical opinions, rather than arguments over interpretations of the law.
