Default Trunk cut-out

A question I always wanted to ask. In the trunk beneath the floor mat there are two cut-outs. Left is the tire-fit set and right is empty. Am I missing something? Did you have something in there?

Thanks.

The right side one fits my "borrowed" M/B First Aid kit perfectly.......

Yes I do use it as storage, but obviously you didn't have anything in there neither.

Hey viper2ko, a place for your changer!

Dan~
Not good/large enough for smuggling.

The parts person at my local Chrysler dealer was looking up some items for me and pointed out that she can order both a first aid kit and warning triangle kit for the car. Apparently these are factory available parts that don't seem to make it into the cars.

For best results pour only beer in the hole, leave the cans out. Use a straw.

Or just get a couple bags of ice and fill the whole back storage with beer!

The first aid kit and triangle are required items in England.

Norrie I believe is from Scotland not England (he may get upset). Bought my xf roadster in England - no first aid kit or triangle present - must be a dealer freebie to Scots.

I had first aid kit and triangle in the car as well. The triangle is a must in Switzerland and every new car comes with one. For the first aid kit, I'm not sure. It used to be a must.

Those two things were not in the hole but attached with the velcro fastening to the latch side of the trunk.

The first aid kit & warning triangle are required equipment in Germany, so MB makes a place to put them.
