Want to buy a crossfire - what color is best???
Want to buy a crossfire - what color is best???
Here's the deal, i'm looking to get a new xfire. just can't decide on the color. i'm thinking white with cedar/black interior. not sure... just can't decide. i know it's personal but some opinions would be helpful. thanks ! (forgot to mention - i'm looking at 2004s because they seem like such a great deal now).
Re: Want to buy a crossfire - what color is best???
I haven't seen a color that I didn't like on the XF.
I like white the best, it looks so clean. The metallic colors DO reflect the light better, but I live in Michigan and the sun doesn't seem to shine that much anyway! I have the 2-tone grey interior, and I love it. The Cedar is too harsh for my taste, but that's just my taste.
What color are you looking at for the ext? It has to be something that you are completely down with, or it'll give you an attitude about the car that will stay with you. I guess that's why you started this thread. You need to validate your choice so you're not sorry afterwards. Around here, I see black out numbers any color in the coupe. If I was getting a coupe, I'd get anything but black for that reason. Too many others are black.
Good luck!

Re: Want to buy a crossfire - what color is best???
thanks for all the tips but there's a problem. i had previously driven a roadster but i had my heart set on the coupe. the local dealer didn't have one so i went out of town to check one out and just got back.. here is the deal - i know why chrysler is not selling these cars. they are sooooo small. i can't fit inside the coupe. i knew there would be potential for difficulties after reading a bunch of forums but i guess i was not prepared for the size of this thing. i'm 6'4" and it wasn't just the seat-back room i barely had any headroom. i am so disappointed. i had my heart set on this car and now it's just makes no sense. when i turn to look out the window all i see is roof. this is definitely a sad sad day. i test drove the white with cedar leather. and yeah white is the color. but the car is just not for me. i've never wanted to be shorter at any point in my life except for today. nonetheless, thanks for all your help and keep driving your xfires. i'm heading to the nissan dealership to see if i can fit into a 350z. we'll see. god speed.
Re: Want to buy a crossfire - what color is best???
I have an '05 alabaster, and i LOVE it!!!
It seems im the only one around here with the white crossfire and I see plenty of crossfires in michgan, and white seems the most rare, and i prefer that color the most... its win win!
The other colors are nice too... but not for me. The blue, red and yellow colors are like a pastel shade to me.
I didn't get the cedar two-tone interior. It was too much for me. I prefer things plain.
Good luck with your choice!

That's too bad you don't fit! 6'4" IS really tall. (Probably a wise decision) My husband is 6'3" and fits in his Vettes really well. Once in a while he'll drive my xf, but DOES complain about lack of room. His complaint is mostly of the lack of legroom, though.
Good luck looking for Your Perfect Car!

Re: Want to buy a crossfire - what color is best???
Well, I've been detailing cars on the side for 5 years now and I can you this, don't get black unless your prepared to take care of it. It (black) looks great at the dealership, especially in the showroom under all the lights, but once you get it home and it shows dust after a 1/2 hr of sitting, it kinda sucks. If you do wanna a black one, here's a couple suggestions:
-California car duster
-California water blade
-use touch-free car washes
-use microfiber towels to dry it off
-Griots paint sealant or Mequiars NXT syn wax
-Griots spray wax (for in-between applications)
Personally I haven't seen a color on the Crossfire that I haven't liked, although the yellow for the convertibles isn't my cup of tea. To sum it up, pick white or the silverish color if your not one take as much care of your ride.

Hi ianwilder
I know exactly what you mean. I'm 6'4 too! After long experiments I've found the ideal seat and steering wheel position. And now I just enjoy the car!
For the color I suggest a bright one like silver or white. With the dark colors the XFire has less contrast to the road and is not that noticeable.
