Re: 350z
Tell him that yours is 80% Mercedes and your Crossfire is much more attractive than his and that you got an auto deployed wing! Your interior is better and you have an autostick. Your wheels comes with 18 in front and 19 in the rear. If he still insist....tell him he'll look better driving your Crossfire!
Re: 350z
What's so great about having a Japanese car? I think that is the GREATEST downfall. Not a thing to brag about, IMO!
I always thought that was a nice car, but it's JAPANESE, so I wouldn't buy one! At least not now, with them getting so much hard earned American money! But I guess things are changing so fast, that hardly any of our money is staying here anymore anyway. I'd rather give it to the germans, than the Japanese! (am I allowed to say that?)

Take some time and do a Google on Best Cars 2005 before you speak. Japanese are at the top of most 10 Best Lists. JD Power rates the Lexus as number one. Several groups discount Mercedes Benz for the quality issues they are having.
Here is just one of many opinions: http://www.theautochannel.com/news/.../15/040330.html
Re: 350z
Well, the 350z has a larger engine (3.5l). But check the RPM the 350z needs to reach max torque (363@4800, XF 310@3000) and power! Even the compression is higher (10.3:1).
Your XF has proved SL engineering from MB and a breathtaking style.
Nissan just tried to copy a XF ...
Only few things from the 350z I "could" miss in my XF: Brembo breaks, 80l fuel tank and board computer.

Re: 350z
This will shut him up, tell him your right your car is way faster, handles just as good and brakes the same. And you may have a decent cup holder. And you may have a great aftermarket for mods. And your engine may have been on the top ten best for a number of consecutive years. But do you have a spoiler that deploys automatically? I think not. Crossfire>350z. LoL:-D
Don't forget looks are subjective. Not everyone thinks the crossfire looks great like we do.

Re: 350z
hahahaha, its sad but true, bullseye is right on with this one...my argument back to all the 350z owners or like my brother with a G35, i just pull out my wallet, open it up and explain i paid 25,000 for mine instead of 35,000 but this argument only works if you got a deal like me, personally i'd rather have a crossfire and 10 grand, then have a 350z and no grand.

#2 You had the track, and the ride is not that harsh, i wouldn't go calling the crossfire the ride of a S500.
#3 Again, looks are subjective.
#4 This coming from a guy who now owns an automatic. You got rid of the 350z because you couldn't handle stick. And i have driven many 350z's. The manual is fine, gives better feedback and feel than that of the Crossfire's. Though I don't think the crossfire's is as bad as all the magazines state it to be.
#5 And what the hell is that suppose to mean? Of course its Japanese, its a Japanese car.
If I had a 350z from the beginning, instead of the crossfire, I wouldn't had to buy the srt-4. But at that time, as still now the 350z out sells the crossfire. And there was no way they could match the lease. Nuff Said.
Re: 350z
The 350Z is a joke. Go to the 350Z forums and there are a lot of complaints about the shady quality of the car. People are reporting bald tires at 4 K miles. One owner went through 3 sets of tires by the time he hit 10 K.
Comparing the two lookwise is the equivalent of Rosie O'Donnell and Marilyn Monroe. The latter being the Crossfire. I have yet to see an uglier sport car than the 350. The convertible is even more pathetic looking. The car doesn't even retain the same shape. It looks like a pick up truck made for midgets when the top is down. Only bad thing about the Crossfire is having the paparazzi follow you when you go out. Car is a show stopper.
The car isn't fast enough argument gets a little old too. The car has plenty of power for the road. Anyone needing anything faster is just going to run into a lot of tickets. A clown in an M5 was motioning for me to race him today. I ignored him and kept doing 50 in the 50 while he sped off doing about 80. Wow...was I impressed. So a 350 Z will take this car 0-60...whoop dee do. A 20 thousand dollar Dodge Neon SRT4 will take the 350 Z out.
A german made and engineered SLK in an american body that sticks to the road like gum to asphalt with a 35 K MSRP that you can get for 26 K is a no brainer.

Man you had an 02 Si? No wonder why you think the crossfire is the best car ever. That gen Si is a disgrace to the Si heritage. The shifter is nice, other than that the car sucks. I am a ex-2000 Honda Civic Si, and that car that new wanna be si just sucks. Everything makes sense now, sure the Crossfire is fast compared to a low 16 second civic. I went from high 12, low 13 cars to 15 second car. Maybe you can see where I come from now.
#5 Again looks are subjective. I happen to agree the crossfire looks better, but that doesn't mean everyone does.

And about the M5 on the highway, if you stood a remote chance in hell against the M5, which you didn't, you would have tried. So........ you are the guy in the left lane doing 50?
Well you are right about the SRT-4 take the 350Z, and that's why I now own one.
But the 350z not only takes the crossfire 0-60, it takes in the 1/4 mile and in the top end. Brakes just as good, 60-0 in 113ft as the crossfire. And the 350Z slaloms faster and pulls more G's according to MT. I am sure you can find some better figures, but these are here in front of me.
And I guess you can beat a crossfire for 26k, that's why the 350z outsells the crossfire by alot. people judge a sports car, well if you want to call the crossfire one is being nice, by performance, and the 350z outshines the Crossfire. And base 350z can be had for 24,900. Not bad for brand new. Or you could max yourself out and buy the anniversary edition for around 33k, if that floats your boat.
And our crossfire have gremlins of there own. Don't forget the manual console can act as if it were snakes in a can.
