Well X'ed it was about sport cars, and I was saying he left out TVR and Lotus. Racing history was never in question. But I see Palmer already owned you on that topic so I will leave it alone.

#6 My Honda SI 02' hatchback drove better! And shifted quicker! The 350 console sucks, it's too high!
#7 If you squint it looks... just ok.

From 60 on the z WILL not smoke you. You will keep right on them. The crossfire was made for the autobahn, as 350z has great torque of the line. The Z is a nice car and was my first choice but due to forces out side of my control I now drive a crossfire. Now take your buddy on the highway and ask him to show you his car is faster. That will shut him up.
And any german car WILL do that better than any japanese car.

NSX>sex appeal than crossfire.

I raced a 350Z on the highway from about a 60 roll in the crossfire, he beat me pretty good. As far as acceleration goes 350z>Crossfire.

Forces out side your control= payment on Z was twice as much? That was why i bought the XF over the Z.

It's possible that it went head to head with Lotus Elans in SCCA events, and even possible that it won some races against the Elans, but by the time the 2002 came out, the Elan was a fairly old design so I'm not sure that the comparison is fair.

I haven't kept up with F1 racing since Lotus and Tyrrell dropped out, but I don't believe that BMW has ever won a Grand Prix race or the constructor's championship. I'm also pretty confident that they've never won at Indianapolis. The production of fast road cars does not give BMW a racing pedigree.

bmw has much more prominence in racing and f1 today than lotus. lotus has been a non factor for a long time. williams (bmw) is very competitive in f1 and bmw worked with mclaren for a while.

that's like saying the reds are better than the braves because they won more world series in the 70's and they braves haven't won a championship in ten. the red's don't compete anymore, but they braves always do. lotus isn't even on the racing radar anymore.

When Colin Chapman died, Lotus was split into two companies, one to make road cars and one to continue racing. The racing company is now defunct. My original reply was to the assertion that Lotus did not have a racing history that was equal to BMW's. In construing the word "history" I did not limit myself to the past 10 years.
