Default Things To Avoid 'Cause It's End Of the Month!

Damn...I got my ticket just a few minutes ago and guess what....the trooper called it racing acceleration! At first he accused me of speeding in every stop light and I told him I have a radar detector and I don't think he can accuse me of speeding because my radar detector didn't sound off! He then told me he didn't get me for speeding but for racing - acceleration. I ask who am I racing with? He said that's what they call it!

I then said.." well, it's end of the month! "..the trooper then ask me to get out and ask me again what I said telling me he didn't hear it. I then said why do you get sensitive about that phase...what I'm trying to imply is that " I'm not always lucky at the end of the month! "

Honestly, my first XFIREX ticket is every end of the month and the first one happened last December when the traffic is usually heavy and guess what the cop got me for...running on YELLOW light! I think every cop/trooper out there are after our Crossfires...part of it is that it may be a bragging rights for them. So, no matter how much you follow the city regulations...they always get you on something else!

And yeah....why can't they spend more time catching those perverts that take away our kids instead of getting little petty violations!

I'd admit it if they get me for running 135 mph in my 5 mile autobahn...lol! But little violations like that is absurd and usually an abuse of authority!

I had a cop turn around on me a few months ago, I was on a divided road and he radar me maybe 55 mph in a 45 mph i said to him this a speed trap, he didn't show in court! Not in my xf my jag.

Then just last week I was heading up another divided road and traffic was backed up a half mile in front the light at which I had to make a right turn at! So I crossed a white line on the 20 foot wide paved shoulder and a cop pulled me over and said that is only for emergency! He was flagging people over so as to write us all tickets! Great public safety issue hah! I'll be going again to court.

Yeah, I'll challenge them in court and will even file a complaint against that trooper for harassment and abuse of authority for making me step out of the car after I made a comment about " well...its the end of the month! " I think it was done to intimidate me...I was hoping he'd handcuffed me cause that would have been my lucky day as my Dad (who happens to be a lawyer) was visiting us for 2 weeks and they'll be eating s***! I can't believe they're ready to blow your head off whenever you make them guilty about the end of the month issue!

EXCESSIVE ACCELERATION ( NO LONGER AN OFFENSE 09/01/2003)
EXHIBITION OF ACCELERATION ( NO LONGER AN OFFENSE 09/01/2003)

I think the trooper is really abusing his authority by accusing me of a violation that has a much more severe penalty. That trooper don't even know what violation he gave me when I asked him why " racing? " Who's my competitor? And I was following a Red Chevy Blazer who later turned right..then he flashes his light! This is freaking crazy and man....that trooper needs to be fired!

Gotta stop that street racing. LOL

Actually, the phrase he is using "racing", may be what they call in chicagoland, agressive driving. If you kinda get on it at a light even though no one is going with you he can pull you over for agressive driving.

We already know that if we really accelerate our Crossfires...our rear wheels will be screeching and we will be burning rubber! Not in my case because none of the two happened and I was just a law abiding driver doing my regular driving speed within the city ordinance. Now, if I am coming off from the traffic light and is way ahead from the rest of the other cars...hey, I have more horsepower than a Civic or than any other ordinary cars out there! Off course, I can lead the pack easily and safely and these troopers call it aggressive driving or racing-acceleration!

That is so unfair!

What would happen if you recorded the conversation " for clarity purposes"? I always carry a camera and pda for just that reason...and was always told to say nothing...and keep a record...just for information purposes...

Sounds to me that as long as you deny any wrong doing, what can they say, I'm also told that the new pop radar isn't a reason for a ticket, if they "pop" you, they have to lock on with normal radar and issue a ticket from it.
The time that you get to the speed limit is not really relevant...the issue is whether you are in control of the vehicle...did your wheels "spin" if not how can it be excessive?
you can only race with another vehicle, so who was the other party and where is his ticket?...also what was your intentions, if there was a car infront of you how could you be racing...
We have a road nearby with 7 speed changes...in the space of four miles, one is 20mph!! all the way up to 65mph...and yes they try and try to dish out tickets...it is absolutely disgraceful behavior... and has nothing to do with good policing, just revenue gathering...worse if they give you a ticket, you could "buy" for $125 a don't put it on my record ticket!!!

Bummer.

I hate cops.
Like you say they have nothing better to do than pull us over for silly little things.
Of course were an easy target.
He was probably just jealous of you Crossfire.
Oh and he probably has a small weanor.

Well what an interesting conversation. It is nice to know that there are still some Neanderthals out there who are willing to degrade our police officers..........get a clue folks....the speed limit is NOT a recommendation and a red light means STOP!
One more thing....no police officers have a quota-- they let us write as many tickets as we want to.......end of month or not....
If you show respect, you will get respect, in life or on a traffic stop.

wow.... all that and half didn't even apply. Cyril wasn't speeding, so speed limit is out. He said he went through a yellow light in december, so red means stop goes out. And yes some officers are dics, and it doesn't matter if you give them respect, they don't have to give it back.

You may very well need to walk a mile in the other person's shoes.....you are invited on a ride-along on patrol anytime you want one........

Well I got pulled over a couple of days ago. It was for not having my plate on the car. It's a fix-it ticket and no big deal, he was only doing his job.

What I have a problem with is that I was completely polite and obligatory and he was a jerk and harassed me. He tried to ask me questions about my husband as well as if to some how bust him as well via me. I don't even know if that's legal. Anyways, that's what happens when we drive cars that stand out...it's that simple. Guess after having a show car I just expect to get pulled over when I see a cop behind me! (But it's still an inconvenience, especially when on your way to work!!)

Hi Glenn,

Have I got some bad news for you!!
I'm sure you are one of the many honest and fair officers.. sadly there is here a large number of others that do not act in a professional way..

and I fail to see why you didn't read the thread... the guy wasn't speeding... but I bet his car was ten times safer than those Neanderthal crown vics!!! and that's what pissed the officer off.

and no I am not degrading true police officers... but on the other side you police officers are wrong to call any one a Neanderthal...

I come from England where officers don't carry guns , don't strut around.. and do serve the public...and the word is serve the public... you are paid by the populace to look after them not harass them..

and I can tell you first hand that I too have not been treated with respect by a number of police officers over here...

so lets stop calling each other silly names.. and lets all be respectful... Mr Officer Sir!!!!!

Have I got some bad news for you...........when was the last time you actually heard anybody say they deserved a ticket when they got one??? Everyone always has an excuse and without the police officer there to rebut the "version" the poor person who got the ticket is telling....well, that's how these urban legends get started...
Sorry to hear that your experiences with police here has been less than satisfactory....but citizens go for years without being contacted by an officer, so I would have to ask, why are you talking to so many....? Where there is smoke, there is indeed often fire...

I have to agree with Glenn...I've had "show" cars my entire life, and never got a ticket I didn't deserve. As a matter of fact, I didn't get one many, many times whenever I deserved one. Cyril's situation is unusual, but let's face it...he had a radar detector in the XFire which is probably a good indication that he occasionally exceeds the speed limit. There are indeed bad cops out there, just like there are bad drivers. But let's be fair...if you're going to criticize Glenn, how about the statement "I hate cops," posted by Norrie? All cops are not bad, and all Crossfire owners are not idiots...but there's a few in each group that give all of the others a bad name.
