Hi Glenn you are indeed right, but sadly your inference is way off the mark...and normally I wouldn't respond, however this time I'll share it with you, it wasn't particularly pleasant...

My ex who happens to be bipolar tried to kill me three times... and even though I had restraining orders and am not a violent man.. on one occasion she attacked me with a full double bottle of wine with two witnesses present I didn't retaliate...did have a huge bruise, she was arrested.. for a whole four hours.. I have had officers in my house while she was making one abusive call after another ( actually that time there were nine) they did nothing...I was told that men attack women not the other way round...then she threaten to shoot me with a 9mm gun, ... I was told that was not her style!! then she broke in umpteen times...

mind you it did take four officers, mace and a straight jacket to haul her off one day... now a number of years later she is at large with four warrants, (two for driving under the influence), one for totaling her car on some poor old age pensioner and one a felony warrant, ( for persistent offending) they know where she is and guess what nothing is done... you wonder why, I wonder why you spend time dishing out silly tickets..??? instead of catching people that are a danger to themselves and others..!!!!

As a further aside your comment about riding with you is very wise, my brother (an award winning journalist in England) did just that when he ran two radio stations over one christmas period, his broadcasts reduced the number of drink drivers that year and convinced all that knew him to never drink and drive again...me included!

Now I wouldn't mind you pulling over all those drivers that fail to signal properly or cut you up or weave around lanes...or sit on your tail....in fact why not make them go back to driver training, might make all the roads a tad safer..

Anyway no hard feelings, you have a tough job at the best of times, I wouldn't want to try and do it..

Chris

It's hard to think that cops are after xf's. I haven't been pulled over since I was 17. That was 30 years ago. I pass lots of police and they just smile at me.

Good Luck, Cyril. Let us know how things work out!

If you show respect, you will get respect, in life or on a traffic stop.
You very well may have missed my post BUT police here abuse their power and write tickets for revenue!!! Everyday! GET real they MUST KEEP their jobs. Why Hide out where signs are HARD to see or because traffic to go to work is BACKED up a MILE! And give the public a MICKEY MOUSE TICKETS INSTEAD OF A WARNING!! COPS don't give warnings anymore HERE why??? Yeah they need $$$$s coming in and cops hate photo cams because they NEED their job.

Oh yeah, and guess what, it took the trooper 5 miles and 9 traffic lights to stop me and I saw him behind me all the time that's why I'm conscious with my driving but he is profiling me and didn't even bother to stop the white Dodge pick up who want to pass me and later speed off!

If someone commits a crime on the scene and you the cop is there...get him right away and not wait for the next few hours to arrest him because that's STUPID! Got my point Glenn...which means he is trying to make me make commit a mistake ( actually pushing me by tailgating...that's how I notice who the car behind me ) which didn't happen and that pisses him off! But what made him sound stupid is when he wrote in the ticket the place where he thought I committed the violation which is 5 miles away from where he stopped me! It just don't make sense at all and I don't think the judge will buy that! And with that aggressive behavior...he needs to be fired especially if he is carrying a gun!

The internal affairs and the news are coming....that's the next episode of thhis issue and this trooper just messes up the wrong person! I really would like to subpoena their radio conversations and the video!

Sometimes when cops acts like that it makes me wanna believed that OJ Simpson is innocent and was just set up by the police! I'm sorry Glenn but I don't respect cops / troopers anymore because I have become their victim and I can't rely on them to protect me anymore! They are like sharks roaming around for victims...so that they can stay alive or rather keep their jobs!

FORT WORTH - West side patrol officers are under new orders: Make two traffic stops a day or face a penalty that includes having days off changed or being reassigned to a different beat, shift or district.

The policy, described in a memo obtained by the Star-Telegram as an active approach to decreasing serious crime in west Fort Worth, disturbs some officers to whom it sounds similar to an illegal quota.

"To me, this is a thinly veiled attempt at a quota, and I don't like it," said Lee Jackson, president of the Fort Worth Police Officers Association, which represents more than 1,200 members of the department.

The state transportation code prohibits ticket quotas.

Police Chief Ralph Mendoza said that he did not initiate the new policy, which he learned about last week, and that he doesn't know who did. But he said he sees nothing wrong with the two-traffic-stop policy. He insisted that it is not an imposed quota.

"Officers have to show their supervisor productivity," Mendoza said. "There's various forms of showing productivity. One of the things we have pushed is going back to the fundamentals of policing. Traffic stops are extremely fundamental."

Mendoza said officers still have the discretion to write a ticket or issue a warning to a driver.

Jackson called the West Division's attempt to regulate the number of traffic stops "misguided." The West Division is a meandering area that stretches from the southern end of Hulen Street in the south to outside Loop 820 in the northwest.

"I understand the need for officer production and the supervisor being able to gauge what the officer does through the course of the day," Jackson said. "But this kind of written policy is very counterproductive."

The memo, labeled a "one-on-one counseling session form" to be used when an officer violates the policy, details that violations will result in "change in roll call time, days off, shift, beat/relief and/or district reassignment."

"If you do not increase your traffic stops, this can only be explained as a neglect of duty on your part," the memo says. "It also indicates you are not working with your team members who are striving to actively reduce ... offenses in the district."

The form, which is to be signed by the employee and supervisor, gives officers a two-week deadline to increase their productivity.

If a noticeable improvement has not been made in two weeks, the officer's roll call time and/or days off will be changed for 90 days, the memo states. If the officer is in compliance with the policy after another evaluation, the memo says, it will be recommended that he or she be returned to original duty status.

Jackson said he would not oppose the policy if it pertained to a single officer who had not written a ticket for an inordinate amount of time. But he said he is against it if it is being used as a new "blanket" policy for all west side officers.

Craig Driskell, an attorney with the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas, said an officer brought the new policy to his attention last week.

"Many officers are not enthusiastic about it," Driskell said, "because they view it as interfering with their discretion, and because many are concerned the public might confuse it with some sort of illegal quota."

Mendoza said that making traffic stops is necessary for safety and that they reduce traffic fatalities by slowing down speeders.

He said such stops also give officers a legal means of finding evidence of crimes, such as narcotics. Fort Worth has conducted "zero-tolerance" traffic stop enforcement in the past to reduce violent crimes, he said.

The police chief said he does not believe requiring two traffic stops per day is excessive.

"As far as I'm concerned, it needs to be as many as they can make," Mendoza said. "I would think two would be a minimum."

Jackson said he believes the requirement may take officers away from other important duties.

"There's so many things that an officer is obligated to do during the course of a day," Jackson said. "To put this kind of a burden [on them], I don't think it's justifiable."

Mendoza acknowledged that there are circumstances in which an officer would not be able to make two traffic stops a day, such as a shift filled with back-to-back calls. He said he believes an officer's supervisor would take those cases into consideration, and he has heard of no grievances filed alleging otherwise.

"Until I see that someone is mishandling it, I have no reason to pull the reins on anyone," Mendoza said.

Driskell said the law enforcement association has not had to represent any officers for failing to make the required two traffic stops. But he and Jackson said they suspect that's because the policy is so new.

"I hope that this policy will be done away with before any action like that occurs," Jackson said. "This is a bad idea. The Police Officers Association is completely against this kind of supervisory tool."

There are indeed bad cops out there, just like there are bad drivers. But let's be fair...if you're going to criticize Glenn, how about the statement "I hate cops," posted by Norrie? All cops are not bad, and all Crossfire owners are not idiots...but there's a few in each group that give all of the others a bad name.

Yup, and the radar detector is there to prove that cops do LIE about your speed if they see you don't have one! Probably without my radar detector they can slap me with any speed they want just to give me a big $$$$ ticket! That's the real reason I bought the radar detector because it pisses my off when cops - professional law officers - LIE just to VICTIMIZE a driver so that they can meet their quota!

Why other people dislike cops....because they earned it! COPS in the television is not the real thing....it's just an attempt to make us believe they are for us and not against us! It also proves that a lot of people now are already tired of their arrogance that's why they run this COPS propaganda to solicit support!

I don't have a radar detector. Cyril, if you have one and it's on, does it keep proof somehow to collaborate your claim? How does it help you? I always thought they just made noise if they detected radar around the area. Thanks for the info.

If the radar sounds off ...you'll know there's a cop ahead and then you can check your speed. If your radar detector did not sound off and the cop tells you that you were speeding...you can tell them you don't think it's true because you have a radar detector and it didn't sound off meaning they didn't use their radar gun and was just guessing or fishing on your speed hoping it will bite!

For the fairness of the troopers...since there's 2 and I believe the young one was a rookie, the rookie seemed to have a better personality that that egoistic maniac! When I said to the other trooper that " It's this end of the month thing! " he didn't show any aggression against it at all but the other guy did...asking me again in a loud voice what I just said. When I told him that phrase, that's when he asked me to step out in an intimidating command with his right hand drawn in his holster. It'll be fine with me if he frisked me or check my car but he didn't meaning he is just trying to muscle me out that he is the authority and to publicly humiliate me. Now that becomes an issue to me because I call it abuse of authority and it's caught on the trooper video!

Go for it Cyril most cops are way off base trying to "catch only paying drivers" that would not go to court with them. I'd be surprised if he showed up! Might get him in trouble! They need revenue here and they make you post bail before you fight the ticket! That in itself is illegal. They hope most drivers won't fight the tickets and they make $$$s all the way around. I just refuse to take it anymore!

Since 17, I only have around 7 tickets which I incurred mostly in my late 20's and early 30's being on the road all the time for my business. Three of those I contested in court and were dismissed. The other tickets...I admitted my mistakes and took defensive driving course for it to keep my driving record clean and not feed the insurance companies for 3 years. If it's my fault I surely would admit it but in this case...this for me is a crime committed by law enforcers and I won't rest and will fight it in any court until I find justice!

And yes, it's nice to keep a good record all the time but when things happen like this....just one time and it will change your respect and opinion about these crooked cops!

Cyril, in one of your posts you mentioned internal affairs and the news. Did you mean that internal affairs and the news are actually coming to your court case?

Look into the news about Milwaukee cops. Just in recent news there have been several stories of individual cops and groups of cops being brought up on charges. One group of off-duty cops at a party beat the living **** out of a man, on-duty cops were called to the scene and watched as the cops continued to beat him, actually hearing the bones in his face crack. The cops were allowed to walk in and out of the crime scene and talk with each other to corroborate stories... so far i think 7 have been brought on charges with another 11 or so named. Other cops are up for felony misconduct charges for threatening to plant drugs on a man and get his parole revoked if he didn't get him hand guns and an assault rifle. And there are more beyond those cases.

And those are just the ******** getting caught.

I have friends who are police and I get along with them fine, and even they admit that most cops nowadays are on a huge power trip. As one put it, 'They felt like losers most of their life, and this is there chance to get back at everyone'

I have gotten tickets and I have deserved some of them. Anyone I deserved I admitted it and wouldn't even waste the city's money by going to court, just paid the fine, but I have also been hassled and treated like ****, no matter how much respect I gave.

Yes, there job is hard, but they knew it would be. If its so hard they have to have to be petty and have a shitty attitude towards everyone, then quit.

My personal best experience, was being lost with a friend at 2 am (neither of us drank then, just out at a friends and got lost driving home) in the middle of nowhere. We make a u-turn at a t-intersection, not a light for miles. Apparently a cop was sitting in a ditch about 50 yards down the road and immediately pulled us over. Made me get out, take a breathalyzer, threatened me with a ticket for 1 of 2 lights on my license plate being out, then gave me a ticket for illegal u-turn at a controlled intersection. Then when we asked him how to get home from there, he gave us directions, that just happened to lead in the opposite directions and got us even more lost, a true credit to the Samaritan that police strive to be.

Here's a good info why State Troopers lives are shitty because of quota and how our lives are now less safer because they've focus too much on traffic violations than being readily available in catching criminals. If you've seen it on the news about that shooting spree in the courthouse here in Tyler, Texas where 3 are dead....where are the cops? It took them several minutes to arrive and the perpetrator is already on the run. They got him though but after 6-8 miles away. Another case is the Nichol's case where there's only one lady baileff/ cop on duty....cost the Judge's life because the cops are out there on the streets looking for traffic violations!

Here's a good link that quotas do exist:

I will write a complain to the DPS Internal Affairs for abuse of authority, harassment, profiling and for falsification of charges! Internal Affairs are very sensitive even to the slightest complaint against their employees most especially those that enforce the law and carry a gun. I have a friend in the local news who can help me run a scope in profiling, abuse of authority through aggression and about end of the month quotas.

If you think you have been falsely accused...please write the Internal Affairs for God's sake! It will help get rid of these crooked cops around and train these cops more to act in a professional manner. Your complaint will be on their record and this will prevent them from future abuses and harassments which again will 'cause us taxpayers money to defend them and pay the cost for their lawsuits! The Rodney King award could have been used towards our children's welfare!

As a victim of police abuse, this incident will be taught to my children that some cops are crooked and can be violators of the law and our constitutional rights. As long as there are crooked cops out there...their stain will gain interest in the years ahead and will haunt their credibility not as a protector but as parasites taking advantage on other peoples mistakes or falsifying a mistake in order to feed themselves!

I found another smoking gun today from my ticket! I found out that the trooper - Officer B. has falsified the ticket...a public document by intentionally marking the "race " section as " W " meaning white and I am not white! I believed they are doing this so that they can avoid the annual survey demographics if they are targeting minorities or not! In Texas, the DPS claimed they're stopping more whites than the other minorities. I have noticed it before in my previous tickets and warnings and didn't really care for it thinking it's just a typo but after reading a lot about my case I found out that the troopers are trying to manipulate the numbers so that their department will be cleared of racial profiling! This is a big blow against the credibility of the trooper other than the fabricated charges of " racing-acceleration ". We don't need this kind of law enforcers because it's scary what's next...what will they manipulate other than race? If they get used to it thay can just plant drugs or guns in our cars to send us to jail!

In Tyler, the following demographics are:

BLACKS Percentage of those stopped 3.3% More likely than Anglos to be
searched? 2.6 times
LATINOS Percentage of those stopped 3.1% 2.4 times
ANGLOS Percentage of those stopped 1.3%

New update...I received a letter from the trooper today typed in a Texas DPS stationary informing me that my ticket for "racing/acceleration" was DISMISSED and that he is sending me another ticket for "reckless driving!" Wow, this trooper is actually digging his own hole deeper because this new update just makes my claims much more valid and stronger. Gotta check with the judge if this is true because it's supposed to be the court who'll send me a letter dismissing the ticket not from the trooper! And since I hired a lawyer to represent me on this, any communications could have been addressed to my lawyer and not to me. I talked to my lawyer yesterday and he told me that he has requested an extension on the scheduled jury trial because he won't be there. Hmmmm...i love it!

I'm shopping for a high profile lawyer now!
