See you have a much different perspective with price than i do because in so. cal 350'z are still going for msrp and your not going to find a gto for 21k. and based on what you say, i guess everyone should just buy a cobra. thats the only car you can fall back on. fact is the crossfire with a turbo giving it 400hp for 34k is a good deal, cant agrue with that.

Well it lasted for one post, and I do appreciate the apology, but not needed. As I sad before there are many tuners that are willing to work on these cars. It is a familiar engine and more then enough room in the compartment for some tubing. If I had the money, and wasn't still in college, it would already be finished. But with working part time I can't justify losing my warranty. Anyway, the shop I have spoken with is called Acosta motorsports and they pretty much turbo anything. They have one of the original turbo RX-8's with and ungodly amount of power. 6500 was quoted for about 5 psi, or about 75 hp with a very safe tune and reliability. Of course the idea of building a whole new block to handle 20-30 psi (30 is a stretch) was tossed around, but then your talking a serious amount of money. If more are interested I'm sure they will do a kit to sell, and depending on how well my summer goes I may just donate my car if this is the case.
Re: Interested in turbocharged( 400+/-) Xfire?
I e-mailed STS on friday and got a reply yesterday. Standard reply,"we don't currently make a specific unit for you model car but we have a universal which can be installed if interested we will find a dealer close to you" etc. If anyone is interested in a turbo which can be installed in your garage and removed easily send them an e-mail. If they get sufficient responses our car may get considered. Their average cost listed on the web site is 3 - 5k.

Does anyone have any experience with the STS kit on such a small engine? I know when i had my firebird the main problem was lag, not much but more then a front mount, and with this engine being significantly smaller and having no headers available yet it may result in a pretty laggy system. Just a thought so let's not jump down my throat if I'm wrong.

The short answer is no. I don't,the show on 2 guys garage on which I first saw this system was very informative. They installed this system on a late model Camaro. The points they made about it (which impressed me) are due to the fact that they are running the turbo at a much lower temperature (the distance from the header) and the design of the waste gate, they are able to run with almost no turbo lag and without the need for an intercooler. The Camaro was a small block (I think). Actually size shouldn't matter. I do wish we had an adequate set of headers though that would really help. I think this might be a better deal than the supercharger because of the ability to remove it and because it addresses the lack of space under hood.
Thanks Xfiring the more the merrier.

Re: Interested in turbocharged( 400+/-) Xfire?
X'ed here in Chicago GTO's are going well below invoice. I almost bought one when they had 4500 rebates and 0 percent for 72 months. Only thing that made me not do it was the 8 grand in negative equity in the crossfire in trade. Any car can be gotten for invoice, hell i was quoted an STi at invoice.
So, let me get this right 6500 bux for 75hp? So around 63whp. that is over a hundred dollars a hp. So say 180whp stock, so around 243whp. Congrats you may now keep up and may beat a stock mustang GT or srt-4. Man the crossfire doesn't take well to mods.
They had a turbo kit put on a mach 1 on 5 psi it went from 284whp to 478whp for 5k. Now that's one hell of an increase. And it ran 11.6@121.

Re: Interested in turbocharged( 400+/-) Xfire?
I am not sure if all of you know this but 14 psi equals about double BHP. So at 6 psi tha comes to 75-85 for the crossfire who's base is at 215. As far as the turbo kit on the mach 1, either they used more then 5 psi, added more then just the turbo kit, or are magical. If anyone has and leads on this let me know.
