Gotta go with Dan, if you want more power in the Crossfire, I'd go with the SRT 6.

I suppose a good company could engineer a turbo conversion for the Crossfire, but I'd really, really want some references before I'd let them touch my car and void the warranty.

Also, I'm not so sure the stock transmission is really built to hold up under the stresses of 400 hp.

It's your car, your money, knock yourself out. Most folks wind up living to regret these kinds of conversions, but sometimes they work out ok.

I'm with you Darren..there's alot of faster cars out there and every year they come up with a faster one. Bullseye thought his Neon is fast enough but then came the new Mustangs and the GTO's who can smoke his Neon easy....then his Neon is history. But with all those new fast cars...none of them still don't look as good as my XFIREX!

Thanks God Bullseye still has a Crossfire to feel good about!

That's something I didn't regret in buying my XFIREX and it's been more than a year now since I bought it and people are still commenting how nice my XFIRE is! So, why trash it when in the years to come there's still not one there that can compete the great styling and design of my XFIREX! ( hopefully )

This is a kit that you can install yourself, I agree it may not be for everyone, but If they got some reasonable responses they might consider doing a package for the crossfire. This appears to be a very reputable firm with a good track record. I understand you think the driveline wouldn't handle this increase, but you have to remember that this chassis and driveline are engineered my AMG division of MB. this entire driveline (engine, tranny, rear) would handle 450 HP no problem. They build everything that way, because most of AMG's stuff winds up on the race tracks in europe.

The SRT6 has bigger Brakes, stiffer springs and shocks, and different rear gears, they also have different ECU and beefed up tranny! The spoiler and front air damn on the outside. I still don't like wing! BUT I would buy their "AMG " technology before I spent a penny on a bolt on TURBO!

That's my 2 cents again!

If you would like to read my post again, I said finish your lease, which would be 2 years or so away. I would guarantee that you will find a srt-6 for mid-high 20's. Never did I say buy one used now for that price.

8k is reasonable amount especially with labor involved. Hell everyone was looking at 12-14k to do the IHI supercharger bit.

And name one car that has everything the crossfire has? For 34k? G35 coupe if you want to go new, R32, cobra, s2k Just to name a few. And used, how about a used z06 as i said. I know you would probably trade your XF for a z06 in a heart beat. And you can pick up e46 m3's now in the low to mid 30's.

X'ed admit it, you bought the crossfire because you were shopping payment. IF they matched a cobra or s2k at your payment now same terms you would not be driving a crossfire, and I don't think anyone could blame you.

You just get worse and worse. Its funny, because you quote me, but then don't even refer to what i say. I said show me a car that would perform like a 400 horsepower crossfire, not a crossfire, for 34k. thats the price of the car, most people are getting it in the low 20's, plus a turbo kit. It would most likely be alot less, but im just saying thats the ultimate high end it would cost. I'm not talking used either, hell i could buy a 993 turbo with 100k miles on it for 30 grand. I'm talking new.

I gotta say you guys are all pretty weak on here. Thank god you represent a small percentage of sports car fans, or else the aftermarket wouldn't even exist. Is it dumb for a na supra owner to go turbo, an sti to turn up the boost or get a bigger turbo, a civic to do an engine swap. You guys are boring and just like to look pretty. I think im done with this forum now.

Hey, Just wondering if this tuner is in the Lodi area. I also spoke to a tuner in NJ and got a price of about 6500 for a turbo kit with about 6-7 psi. Nothing is finalized because I haven't had my car for even a month yet, but they are a very reputable shop. Are we allowed to post their name or is that advertising?

Count me as highly interested, with a few caveats...
a) I won't be the first to do it
b) I want to see before and after dyno charts and 1/4 mile time slips

Good riddance then X'ed we sure don't need arrogant people here like you. You stink around here anyway and surely we don't feel bad of you leaving here. And lastly, please don't come back anymore using a different screen name.

The new mustang gt is a damn close race vs my srt-4 and the ls1 gto's are pretty easy to beat, they are way too heavy. The LS2 is a different story, haven't ran into one yet. But you should get something for 20k more :-D

Funny how you also don't mention where you misread what I typed. Thats why i threw in the 03-04 Cobra. Could have gotten a 04 for around 29k put 5k into it and say bye bye 400hp crossfire. Or get a base 350z and TT it. Or buy a GTO for 22k new (ls1) and turbo it. There are plenty of options. Sorry, I would just wait out and buy a SRT-6, if I wanted a fast crossfire.

I wouldnt ,,400 hp in a 3000lb crossfire 6sp will be no comp. except the z but u would have to beaf up the bottom end to turbo it let alone twin turbo it. anyways going beyond 400hp your going to have a huge hook-up problem,,not like u r going to run around on slicks all day

and by your estimation, wouldn't it be stupid to tt a 350z and just buy a cobra instead.

one more thing, the 350z tt puts out exactly 400 crank hp, so again, where is the advantage?? and it weighs about 300 pounds more.

Yes, that's why i brought the Cobra to begin with. A 350Z TT will still only run high 12's at best. And you can get 350z's for invoice.
