Default Any one know how to decode the VIN??

I saw it on the Daimler Chrysler site before but I can't find the decoder now... I am tryingt o find out my build date...

My 1st gear keeps popping out but the dealer say it's not covered within the existing TSB. my build number is 5454...

It litterally scares the crap out of me every time it happens!

The VIN doesn't contain a build date but I believe I have seen higher build numbers than that with the problem. Regardless, the problem is there and the vehicle is under waranty. The dealer has to fix it!
Here is the VIN code FYI anyway, and now it will be listed for anybody else's future reference:
Keep us posted on the results. Good luck.

That's exactly what I am looking for... Thanks for the quick reply!

I am going to call th dealer again tomorrow and threaten to take my business else where if they don't fix it... I'm telling you... It scares the crap out of me every time! The crappy thing is, I can't replicate the issue... It just happens, so when I take it to the dealer they tell me "no fault found"! Argh!

If you are looking for the build date, it's on the decal on the drivers door jamb. There is a date of manufacture which gives the month and year. Then there is the MDH which gives the month, day, and hour of manufacture.

leebea... your VIN break down is nice, but doesn't seem to be quite right. I have a 2005 roadster with a 6speed, my VIN# is 1C3AN65L35X024968. If you plug in my VIN into your description a few digits do not match e.g. 4th, 6th, and 7th digit. I could understand the 7th digit, since mine is a roadster, but what about the other digits. If you have any additional information that would be great.

Thanks,
Jim
