They were not kidding about the snow thing
Don’t go out in the snow, go by sled instead. My lovely crossfire skidded all over the place and had the traction of a wet kipper. Even with big Pilot 2’s on its feet this baby went nowhere except towards the nearest ditch. I don’t think I’ve ever had a car so bad in the snow and ice - blooming horrible it was. Good job I love it so much, just like a women, won’t perform unless the conditions are just right and she’s all thawed out. Oh well off to nick the kids Ford Ka - roll on spring.

Lol!
That's hilarious!(the woman part)
Hope you were ok after that!
I hate winter too and that's why mine is parked for the winter.
Hope spring comes soon for us all! Just watched the weather here on the tV and all next week the high temps are going to be in the 20's Doesn't look like it's coming here for a while.
p.s. Teadrinker, that's why we had kids, isn't it? So we can drive their cars when we don't want to trash ours! I drive my daughter's pontiac when I need to!

Re: They were not kidding about the snow thing
I have found the Crossfire relatively good in the snow compared to other vehicles. I even went 85mph on the highway when a snow storm had just started to dump some snow onto the road...you know, that slushly stuff. Maybe it's because I have the Continentals and not the Michelins. I even went up pretty steep hills with 2 inches of snow on the ground (very, very slick). Driving in the snow is all about smoothness...being abrupt will make you end up in a ditch or on the guardrails.
Re: They were not kidding about the snow thing
I use mine daily and have found it's not too bad in snow, especially if it's below 20ºF. The tricky part is between 20º and 30º when the pressure of the tires turns the snow to water but still solid snow clogs the grooves in the tires trapping the water and making the car hydroplane.
I have a curving uphill driveway which I usually shoot by coming in from the east with some speed and holding a light throttle with timely steering inputs. One thing I have learned is to turn the traction control off before doing this. With the traction control on what happens is that the system senses the rear wheels spinning and applies the brakes while reducing throttle. That results in the car coming to a halt with the rear brakes locked and the engine stalled.
I think the car is as good in snow as my front wheel drive 92 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX was, partly because it's more honest about what it's going to do and partly because the front wheels are steering while on the Eclipse they were sliding while trying to get the power delivered.
