Much better IMO
Much better IMO
After tinting my lights out 2 days ago as soon as I fitted them straight away I was unsure on them here's how they looked:

So I decided to whip them back out last night and wet flat them back before this morning re doing them using body colour red (Blaze Red) base coat mixed in with car lacquer instead of black so there metallic and after refitting them I'm much happier with how they look:

Re: Much better IMO
I just stumbled on this post again and I was studying the pics and it occurred to me that the background scene in all the pics made it feel like the UK.
The house styles etc. I find it amazing that such things can be so different and tell the reader that this is not Kansas anymore. The same with pics from Europe, you can sense immediately that this is somewhere totally different, even the clothes are a give away even if they are casual styles. Obviously if everyone is obviously racially different you might go off on a tangent.
I wish I had a nice stone wall like that in my garden.
As I mentioned once before, my father and I went fishing around Royston back in the early fifties. I think that was the River Lee.
I like the red Crossfire a lot, to my mind that rear light treatment makes it a little too red maybe.

Re: Much better IMO
Hi there,
you say it would be illegal there but looking at your picture it looks like you have yours fully tinted out black anyway is that also illegal there? If not how do you get away with them being blacked out?
Re: Much better IMO
Thanks.
The problem tinting the lights out red causes the direction indicator to show up red even with amber bulbs fitted such as what we use in the Crossfire.
But there is a way around the problem and that's by fitting green bulbs because when you shine a green light though a red lens it makes amber:

So today I picked up the green glass paint well 2 shades as I was unsure how dark it would need to be and lucky I did as I thought it would have needed to be dark green but it was actually light green that gave the more amber light.
I tried to brush it onto the bulbs but it was a mess so decided to pour the paint into a egg cup and dunk the bulbs and this gave a perfect even coverage:

Now I didn't take any pics of the colour before I swapped them but there was no difference between the indicator and the side lights and now I have swapped them there very much amber although it's hard to take a picture that gives a true representation of the colour but you can see there obviously now different to the side lights, but take my word for it there now nice and amber:

Re: Much better IMO
But if you have a good spray shop near you it's a very simple process, I mixed up 80ml lacquer 20ml body colour red then 50ml hardner then I applied just 2 coats to get to where it is now.
