Default Can you fit 4 x 19" wheels without tyres in a coupe?

Hi all

Well I've decided to go and test fit some wheels next Tuesday and I'm sure I'll end up buying a set and wanted to know has anyone ever squeezed a set of 19"rims without tyres in a coupe?

I'll be going down alone so I can use the passenger seat.

It will probably be 4 x 19" but it might be 2 x 19" & 2 x 20" I'll unbox them.

Yes, you might have to use the passengers seat for 1 or 2. I had a full set of tires and rims in mine when I bought my winter wheels.

Could also just unbolt the passenger seat (4 screws) disconnect any wiring, and leave it at home.

Well if I can get away without doing that I'd much prefer it.

Pretty sure the airbag light will come on.

Your right it would,

I do have the equipment to extinguish it again after but would still prefer not to have to remove the seat

Oh, if you can turn off the light removing the seat is easy. 4 bolts and you are done.

Does turning the key in the "disable passenger airbag" lock on the passenger end of the dash count ?

I still think the error from removing the seat will still trigger the dash light even with the switch turned

Haven't tried but why would it set a light, there is no airbag in the seat ? Connections are just for the heater and power seat motors.

From 2004 FSM page 23-202:
1. Move the seat (1) all the way back to its lock position.
2. Pull the plastic front covering (3) from the seat tracks.
3. Remove the two front seat track bolts (2)

4.. Move the seat all the way forward to its lock position.
5. Remove the bolt (2) on the seat track for the seat belt mounting.
6. Remove the belt end from the seat adjuster.
7. Remove the rear two bolts (1) attaching the seat track to the floor.
8. Disconnect the electrical connectors for the seat heater and the electrical seat adjustment.
9. Move the seat backward, lift up and then remove from the vehicle.

I knew at one time but have forgotten. I know all the airbag wires are a bigger yellow wire and when I unbolted and unclipped the wire connection to remove the seat I saw the yellow airbag wires. Luckily I did not turn on the key with the seat unclipped. I saw another post here where someone had the seat out and started the car to move it and the light came on.

Yes but the seat can be removed without removing the seat belt. Guess there is only one way to find out but need to move to a different space to do that.

I bought a set of four wheels, with tires mounted, on craigslist. I thought I was buying just wheels. But I got all four in the car. So yes, it can be done.
If I remember correctly, I had one rear and one front in the rear bottom, standing up, side by side. Then one front stacked on top of them, on it's side, (yes, I got the hatch closed). Then the last rear went in the front seat standing up. I put the back of the wheel facing the console, for a little more room.
Do I suggest doing such a thing? Not really. But ya' gotta do what ya' gotta do sometimes.

Wow, I never would have guessed 3 mounted tires would fit in the back.

I know that's what I thought but I suppose it's surprisingly deep and with the load cover back it's even deeper up to the rear screen

The guy I bought them from was pretty surprised as well. He didn't think there was any way I was going to get it done.

I hate to sound stupid, but, how do you post on this form, I can't for the life of me figure it out? I have just purchased a 2005 Crossfire and have a problem and being a newbie, would like to throw it out to the form and see how it is responded too?
