Question Aftermarket wheels?

Does anyone know what is needed to install aftermarket wheels on the XF, 19's all the way around. For instance any adaptor hardware such as hub rings or spacer needed to adapt to the OEM hubs? I have 19 inch AXIS Finish wheels and want to make sure they will fit on the XF. Also the tire pressure monitor light, what happens to that after the OEM wheels come off?

your new rims should be a direct bolt on if they are made for the crossfire. there should be no need for spacers or hub centric rings.

as for the low tire pressure sensor...you will need to have the valve stem/sensor transferred to your new rims to function. if you don't do this your light will stay on via the dash.

I have 19's on the front and 20's in the back. I didn't need any spacers or anything, just make sure you have the right bolt pattern is all.

I didn't do anything about the pressure sensor, so like andrew said above, my light just stays on.

Ummm...good question! My husband got the rims put on for me, I was under the impression that you couldn't transfer it over so I never put up a fuss about it, I'm so busy hugging the roads, there's no time to notice the light!

the sensors should be very easy to transfer over. you just slip them in like any valve stem, then screw the cover on outside to hold it in, very simple. Only a small number of rims would pose a problem.

I think you have to pull the whole stem. not just the inner sensor.

Yeah...well...with my luck with rims, I have one of the ones where it isn't possible ...It's all good though, I'm over it!

People driving by only see the rims, not the light! The hard part is remembering to pay attention the to the other light that I see once a week - the gas light!

Thumbs up Re: Aftermarket wheels?

hi jellis sorry it took awhile to get back to you, but yes for that wheel and many others, you will need hub centric rings. here's why - the wheels you bought has a 73.1 center bore, all mercedes car has a 66.6 - 67.0 center bore. the hub ring hangs on the hub to make up for the difference and will keep the wheel from floating around, and keep from mis-aligning the bolts at install. depending on the off set of the new wheels you may need one 15mm hub centric spacer for each of the rear wheels, to move the wheel towards the fender. and you will need new lug nuts. the factory ones have acorn shape seat and you will need a ball shape seat for the new wheels. as for the sensors, carefully unscrew them and place them in your new wheels and you should be good to go!!!

the stem is the sensor, they are one unit as I described, they pull out from inside after the nut is taken off the outside.

i asked the wheel supplier about mounting hardware for my wheel order and hub spacers ect. he told me that the wheels are made to fit with the lub centric lub bolts stock on the car so i didn't need anything additional.
