Go back to the dealer, only they can turn it off.

You cant turn it off. I think the dealer is the only one. I have never heard of the airbag light because of changing the rcm. I wonder what they did?

Dang one hundred beat me to it. :-)

2004 Coupe: I have just removed my passenger seat with the negative terminal disconnected. With the seat out I had to move the car so I connected the battery, moved the car & the airbag light came on. I replaced the seat & disconnected the battery for 10 minutes. Reconnected the battery & the airbag light was off. I knew about this problem but took a chance that the light could be turned off. If the light had stayed on I have a great independent MB shop that would have fixed it for no charge. I have read of some people paying $80 for the fix. Apparently I got lucky.

I had also turned off the passenger airbag before removing the seat. I don't know if this had anything to do with being able to reset the airbag light.

I had a similar thing happen with my old Kia Amanti, moving seats to wire a backup camera. And the airbag light stayed on for days, so I disconnected battery for a long time and it cleared. I have read that some cars need reset by dealer tool, and have had them reset automatically anyway, like the clockspring on my 2002 Town and Country.
