It should be way too cold and snowy up there for you to be out driving around in your Crossfire!

I'm familiar with that shift linkage and the clip because I had to change out the shifter assembly in my rescue roadster. The way that clip attaches it would be VERY difficult to have the clip just fall off. I'm sure it could break but that would seem unlikely too. I suspect your experience is a rare one. I did a search of the forum and couldn't find any references to the shift linkage coming apart. I guess you're just lucky . . .

Thanks Red Dog, and yes it is too cold to drive the crossfire. jUst moved it from one garage to the other. Temp was -9 Celsius today, shorts and tshirt weather. Found the clip on top of the heat shield above the cats. Have new ones coming from Milwaukee doesn't seem to be any parts for these vehicles in Canada

Saskatchewan is part of Canada? Wow, you learn a lot on this forum.
Just kidding.
There are a lot of parts for these cars here, they are at the Mercedes dealers.
If it's the part I think you mean, it was not properly installed.
