Just ignore Bullseye....I don't really think he owned a Crossfire ( he's been wishing he can own one ) that's why he can afford to say negative things about our Crossfires and all he is is just a gadfly in this forum. He has his ideas but it don't belong here...it's just too inconsistent about his identity from a Cobra then to Crossfire then to a WRX STi. I think he is depreciating himself big time when you talk about CLASS!

I am 21 and I have owned over 30 cars don't be jealous in my accomplishments. You may be there one day also. But not if you keep on blowing money on a car that has a trade in value the same as that 4 door neon.
I am not happy with my XF, and I'm not taking a 7 thousand dollar blood bath in negative equity, I did that once with my M3 and will never do it again. If you owned the amount of performance cars I have owned, you would understand. But you are more interested in being like a Peacock, pretty but useless.
I think your actions show incredibly bad taste on personally attacking someone for their opinion. If you can't accept that everyone does not believe the crossfire is the best car on the market, then get your sheltered self out of the dark, and wake up. People have different opinions. If you can't accept that, keep your mouth shut.
Re: Crossfire -v- Audi
Hey Bullseye, in addition to raising Red Brangus cattle, I also raise India Blue Peacocks. I'm not certain I would call peacocks "pretty but useless". They are incedibly good watchdogs and my place has far fewer grasshoppers and other insects than places around me. In addition, their antics are far more entertaining than most of your posts.

Bullseye is a negative force in this forum..and like a gladfly he annoys us by his complaints about the speed of his crossfire. If you are a speed freak, you should have known it before you bought a crossfire ( if he has one or maybe the CF is the 31st of his mistakes having owned 30 fast cars in 5 years - a vey unhappy and insecure person ) And if you think you have a deep pocket selling meatballs... with an average of 5 cars a year since you had your license...add a Kleeman, Reentech or Brabus upgrade in your crossfire - the simpliest solution for a rich brat! You just can't come in here bitching and moaning about how slow the crossfire is for you and we can't be your therapist to help your problem because speed is the least of our problem here. People like you who can't think of a solution for their simple problems are our biggest problem here because they are just a mouthful of s**t!
They're just here to break the harmony of this forum!

Maybe we should buy him a Minnie and some Ears to go with it .
He doesn't hear himself because if a M3 is so great why did he sell it ! or if $7000 is too much loss then ask mommy for some more $$ss.and get your Ninnie I mean Minnnie.
And if you need more speed try a few corners instead of those straight streets.Try a CANYON .You'll feel better.

If everyone thought the crossfire was great as you do, it wouldn't be worth what it is, and the used market would not be flooded with them. Check the auctions there are plenty of unhappy crossfire owners that have taken it to the next step and gotten rid of it. The crossfire is a over priced car with mediocre performance. Enough said.

And its just not a car i have, its the car we have. And I am not the only one that feels this way. Even the automotive industry considers the crossfire a failure. If you bought this car for looks you chose the right car. Because thats where the love of the car stops for me. And I thought maybe, I could get by with the so-so performance. I was dead wrong. Trust me if i can undo buying this car, I would. But thats not a possibility.
And just sell it and move on? Thats a great idea never thought of that. Well if the car held its value better than a taurus I would. Unless you and the members want to come up with 10k and buy me out of my lease;-) I am here to stay, this whole arguement has been blown out of proportion and for no reason.
Re: Crossfire -v- Audi
The XF should not be considered a failure. It has not sold as many units as might have been expected, but it has achieved for Chrylser what they intended - it has made the whole world aware of the Chrysler brand, and it has enabled DC to release the new SLK at a premium (which is really where DC will really make their money), and has extended the life of the previous platform which will bring financial economies. Basically without the XF, Chrysler would die as a brand outside the US.
Additionally, I am really pleased with mine and will either keep it or get another in a couple of years, unless I can afford a FirePower. I bought the XF knowing it was reasonably quick, but not super-quick etc. cos I read the literature, and I've been in enough Boxsters, Z4s, M3s, S3(300hp) to know they are also not perfect.
I even bought it without a test drive, I wanted one so badly; I was either going to get the XF or nothing (I didn't need a 3rd car at the time).
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion (and we should encourage free speech on the forum) and we should not attack others for not sharing the same views as ourselves. The site is hopefully being moderated, so let them do their jobs - if you are unhappy with a post, PM the moderator and let them deal with it.
However we should be trying to help one another and be constructive whenever possible.
It is encouraging how many new members have made their first posts recently. Hopefully an aftersales market will emerge, after all I wouldn't say no to a bit more power.

While I Certainly Don't Agree With His Statements,
this is a public forum and people can post as they like. I think it's aiding and abetting the guy you don't like by going into retorts and accusations, and also stating personal "family and friends" items which probably is gas on the fire to him and certainly could be construed as being a little, for lack of a better word, humorus to him. There are always those type of posters around, being able to avoid falling face first in the traps they set can be most difficult....
Re: Crossfire -v- Audi
Im not worthy...Im not worthy...I have only been here for a month after all....yeah.. you're real smart bullseye, just damn smart!! all you newbies you're not worthy as you didnt post on here till recently, well thats accordingy to the bullmeister. :-)

Re: Crossfire -v- Audi
I think that it is sad the way this thread has gone,it started as one persons opinion and another person gave another opinion.Surely thats what this forum is about???
Its for all of us to give our opinion on various and varied subjects regarding the Crossfire,we should not Bully anyone no matter wether we agree with there opinion or not .Bullseye gave his opinion that he would swap his car for another , thats his opinion, thats all.He should not have had the personal attacks.
We all love the car, I too as some else said ,bought the car without a test drive, when I saw the car in the flesh it was superb. It has so many different styling cues,Bugati and the new Bently Gt has the same rear.Bullseye also said that the looks are superb.
It was not bullseye that affected the resale value of the car, it was Daimler Chrysler, they dumped cars in the market and we all suffered.
I for one will not be selling my car ,not because of the value ,just because I Love It.
Even after a year it still brings a smile to my face when I get in ,other people still ask about it ,its not the fastest car its not the best put together ,that does not matter ,we all bought for the same reason
The Looks.
Lets be bigger than name calling, in this country (UK) as well as in the USA we all have the right of Freedom of Speech, let the guy have his say and move on.
Regards
JJ

Re: Crossfire -v- Audi
As an avid Audi fan and prior and current Audi (A4) owner go with the XFire on this one. The TT is a nice car though it's not all its summed up to be. Its a nice coupe plagued with an ugly bulbous front end. It shares a platform with a golf and beetle. If you opt for the Quattro, it's not the true quattro found on the A4, A6 or A8 which are permanent all wheel drive; they are those Haldex AWD slip crap that it only kicks in when it detects slippage.
In Handling, the Audi bogs and rolls quite noticeably on hard corners the suspension seems way soft for the nature of the car, whereas the XFire is always poised, takes corners at 100mph plus with ease and seems to be on rails with no body roll.
In Performance, the Audi has two wonderful 1.8 Turbo 4-cylinder engines that are great. The 180 hp single intercooled version or the 225 hp twin intercooled version (PLEASE NOTE: Both these 1.8T's produce way less torque than the XFire; 173lbs and 207lbs respectively). Now theres a 3.2 Liter V6 version that is a VR6 from the latest VW GTI R32 I wont mention that one due to that its about $10K over the price of a Crossfire however the funny thing is that is produces almost equal performance to the XFire but for $10K more). Due to the heft (2,987 lbs 180-hp or 3,230 lbs 225-hp) the Audi with the 180hp version is a DOG. The 225 hp version is the way to go with the 1.8T engine. The 225 hp version only has better down low acceleration that is actually noticeable over the 180hp, but thats about it, once underway it feels almost the same as the 180hp version. Now the XFire spares the turbo lag and small displacement with Mercedes-Benz 3.2 Liter normally aspirated V6 pumping 215 hp and a delicious 229 lbs of torque through a flat curve of 3,000-4,000 rpm's. Meaning you will be able to accelerate a manual version of the XFire in any gear and get impressive acceleration whereas the audi although it has a huge flat torque curve on both 1.8T engine's, you still might have to downshift to get a good passing gear. Also worth mentioning the XFire is faster in acceleration than both Audi 1.8T versions and equally comparable to the Audi 3.2 DSG, and has a higher top end, a true 150 mph.
Exhaust notes are also worth mentioning. The two versions of the Audi TT 1.8T sound like what they are; a 4-cylinder with a turbo whoosh coming from the right front of the car whereas the XFire has this mean deep growl as the rev's climb that make you want to drop clutch and floor the car every chance you get to hear that growl eminating from the rear. Its awesome.
Exterior styling: To start the crossfire is FAR WAY BETTER LOOKING, the audi looks like someone stretched a beetle from the front and back ends. Need I say MORE. Also the XFire has a great deployable rear wing for stability that is very effective and when not needed it stows itself whereas the TT has this ugly lip permanently fixed to the rear distorting the only nice part of the TT; the rear end. Audi noticed that lots of its TT's where not stable at high speeds causing accidents so they decided to install a permanently fixed rear lip for stability.
Comfort: Yeah the big plus the Audi has over the XFIRE is that you do have nicer fit and finish on the inside of the Audi and you have 2 extra NON-HUMAN rear seats that can carry addtl items. The stereo is better in the Audi as are the interior materials and the leather. The Audi features and creature comforts are better and at night the gauges illuminate in this beautiful red that is breathtaking. The XFire is just a previous gen. SLK nice for its time (late 90's) with a nice layout though lacking features like an on-board computer, or a Fully Automatic Climate Control (dual) with digital readouts as in the Audi. Also the interior dash facing and the console trim material is a cheapy plastic in the XFire where I wish Daimler Chrysler would have gone with some nice aluminum. Other than that interior goes to Audi.
Transmission: The Audi's transmission is rubbery, so it fairs comparably to the stubborn when cold XFIRE transmission. But both are good tranny's and get the job done with nothing great to note about either one. However the clutch modulation is far better in the Audi due to that is has a shorter travel nothing an experienced XFire driver can't duplicate .
As far as trade-in values are concerned, we can't really determine that in a comparison between the two. The XFire hasn't been in the market as long as the Audi to really determine which will weather better. I took two larger hits on prior Audi's i owned and they were only 7 months old, so don't go buy the "ITS A LUXURY BRAND IT'LL HOLD ITS VALUE BETTER CRAP" cause that's NOT TRUE.
Wheels and Tires: The suspension and setup is BETTER on the XFire though the ride is much stiffer than in the Audi. The Audi has softer springs giving you a nice ride until the road starts to bend where its poise starts to crumble and the car starts rolling and leaning heavily. The rims on the Audi are aweful looking and the sizes are small when compared to the XFire's great looking larger rims and meaty wide tires out back.
Warranty: The warranty is better on the Audi by far. A 4yrs/50,000 mi. bumper to bumper with service included for 4yrs/50,000 mi. The XFire has a crappy traditional American 3yrs/36,000 mi. bumper to bumper warranty with no service included. However, the Powertrain is better in the XFire with a 7yrs/70,000 mi. warranty, whereas the Audi's Powertrain is only 4yrs/50,000 mi.
Fuel Economy:
Audi 1.8T 180-hp Automatic: 21 City Mpg / 29 Hwy Mpg
Audi 1.8T 225-hp Manual: 20 City Mpg / 28 Hwy Mpg
Crossfire Manual: 17 City Mpg / 25 Hwy Mpg
Crossfire Auto: 21 City Mpg / 28 Hwy Mpg
So, for your money, if you want rarity, looks, a definite Collector's item, a car that will always have someone coming up to you for a short conversation of "how do you like it?" or "who makes this car?" , a car that handles incredibly, performs and sounds great and that shares lots with a great car maker, MERCEDES-BENZ, then go with the Crossfire.
P.S. Don't feel like you are not buying a luxury coupe by not selecting the Audi because if you get down to it, the XFire is way better - IT IS a reskinned MERCEDES-BENZ.
HOPE this Helped!

Re: Crossfire -v- Audi
^Pretty good breakdown Bullfrog. Also forgot to mention the Audi has a longer warranty, gets better gas mileage, and the biggest factor why i would choose it over the crossfire is it has an aftermarket. Small also, but at least it doesnt cost 10 grand to get anything over 50hp. Please don't bring up nitrous, thats not an option. Other than that pretty well said.
In the audi defense the ALMS Audi TT looks good, and out peforms the XF. If I remember correctly didnt they band the TT's quattro from some series of races? No car could keep up with the audi in the twisties but it was always reeled in by the likes of the C5-R and viper gts-r.
Oh I never said anything about since its a luxury brand it will hold its value better, just said I would choose it because of the name alone. Along with all the other attributes.

I'm sure you have alot of friends if you cant get any in 4-5 decades there must be something really wrong.
Let this be stated "I do not have a problem with the Forum, just the car lacks in certain aspects."

I got rid of my M3 for one simple reason, loss of income. As i have said before. Be honest with yourselves people the crossfire is not that great of a car. Check the auctions there are plenty of unhappy crossfire owners that have taken it to the next step and gotten rid of it. The crossfire is a over priced car with mediocre performance. Enough said.
Check autotrader .com there's as many minnies for RESALE as all Chryslers!!! dah I wonder why?????????????????????
