Default Air Selector Dial Not Working

I have no heat blowing onto the floor board and the air selector switch does not have any effect on the air flow. I have heat blowing through all openings except the floor. Any ideas!

That's kinda' normal. You have to close the dash vents to direct flow to your feet.

The Euro way.

But even when I do that there is no flow to the floorboards. No matter where I turn the dial, the air flow stays the same and blows through the dash vents and defroster. Something has to be wrong.

It's pretty cold here and I used the floor vent just this morning. Closing the dash vents forces air to blow out-at the side of my calf. Not where I have it blowing in any other car I've owned. If it doesn't do this, there is a problem elsewhere.

Sorry, bud.

Closing the vents has no effect on the airflow. I suspect that the switch is bad, but I want to be sure. Any help is appreciated

When you change the selector to defroster, does it flow properly to the windshield? If so, it may be the vent directional adjustment for the floor is stuck in a closed position. It would seem weird if it worked for one selection but then the other though. Not sure what to advise until their is more detail about the other operations of the switch. We'd need to look at the shop manual for location of actual operational parts, etc.

The air flow does not change no matter what the position the switch is in. I have air coming through the vents and defroster, but nothing to the floor. If I close all the vents, still nothing goes to the floor.

I appreciate the help, I don't have a service manual, so I unsure what to check.

A problem with the blower motor resistor can cause the heater blower motor to be inoperative (no air will blow from the heater vents). Proper diagnostic is needed to determine the cause.
